นิทรรศการ "Iris dans un vase Benjarong" (Irises in Benjarong Vase) ผลงานโดย นรภัทร ศักดิ์อาธรทรัพย์ (Naraphat Sakarthornsap) จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 4 พฤศจิกายน - 5 ธันวาคม 2565 และจะมีพิธีเปิดในวันที่ 4 พฤศจิกายน 2565 เวลา 18.30 น. ณ Alliance française de Bangkok : สมาคมฝรั่งเศสกรุงเทพ

[EXPOSITION] Iris dans un vase Benjarong (Irises in Benjarong Vase) de Naraphat Sakarthornsap

Naraphat Sakarthornsap presents for the first time this series of photographs realised during his residency in Paris at Cité Internationale des Arts in 2022.
In "Ignorant Bond" (2015-2017), Naraphat Sakarthornsap started to use flower arrangement as a medium to connect himself with the appliances of his childhood home, trying to find some of his missing pieces in the arised nostalgia, expressing his sense of identity, gender and also a way of life, under the atmosphere of his most private space: his home. This series was a milestone for the artist as it represented liberation and a sense of self without shyness but full pride.
In “Iris dans un vase Benjarong” (2022), the artist expands his own territory to the outside and generates an area representing coexistence of people from different genders, races, or social classes through flower arrangement patterns. The arrangement of local flowers from France with appliances from Asian and mixed cultures, mirrors the conjunction of diversities that emerges from the daily use of objects made from abroad/outside for local living. It is also an expression of coexistence and beauty, an illustration of coexistence among exiles who spend their lives in a non-native country, as well as the recognition of beauty in ethnic diversity in a world where gender, racial, and social class discriminations still exist. When the artist states that he identifies himself not only as an LGBTQIA+ person but also as a Thai-Chinese person, he emphasizes the diversity of human identities, a diversity so commonly shared that it makes all humans the same at the end.
If we can perceive the beauty of diverse types of blooming flowers in a park, then why can we not perceive the beauty of ethnic diversity of humans in the society in which we live?

นรภัทร ศักดิ์อาธรทรัพย์ นำเสนอภาพถ่ายชุดนี้เป็นครั้งแรก ซึ่งเป็นภาพที่เขาถ่ายขึ้นในระหว่างที่พักอาศัยอยู่ในปารีสที่ Cité Internationale des Arts ในปี 2022

ในผลงาน "Ignorant Bond" (2017-2019) นรภัทร ศักดิ์อาธรทรัพย์ เริ่มใช้การจัดดอกไม้เป็นสื่อกลางในการเชื่อมโยงกับเครื่องใช้ภายในบ้านสมัยเด็ก โดยพยายามค้นหาชิ้นส่วนตัวตนที่ขาดหายไปในห้วงความคิดถึง ทั้งเพศและวิถีชีวิตภายใต้บรรยากาศของพื้นที่ส่วนตัวที่สุดคือ บ้านของเขาเอง ซีรีส์ผลงานนี้ถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญของศิลปิน เนื่องจากได้แสดงถึงการปลดปล่อยความรู้สึกและได้เป็นตัวของตัวเอง โดยปราศจากความเขินอายและเต็มไปด้วยความภาคภูมิใจ

ในผลงาน Iris dans un vase Benjarong (2022) เขาได้ขยายอาณาเขตของตัวตนออกไปสู่ภายนอก และสร้างพื้นที่ที่แสดงถึงการอยู่ร่วมกันของผู้คนจากหลากหลายเพศ เชื้อชาติ หรือชนชั้นทางสังคมผ่านรูปแบบการจัดดอกไม้ การจัดดอกไม้ท้องถิ่นฝรั่งเศสด้วยเครื่องใช้จากเอเชียและวัฒนธรรมผสมผสาน สะท้อนถึงความเชื่อมโยงของความหลากหลายที่เกิดจากการใช้สิ่งของที่ทำจากต่างประเทศ หรือภายนอกประเทศในการใช้ชีวิตในท้องถิ่นในแต่ละวัน นอกจากนี้ ยังเป็นการแสดงออกถึงการอยู่ร่วมกันและความงาม การแสดงภาพการอยู่ร่วมกันในหมู่ผู้พลัดถิ่นที่ใช้ชีวิตในประเทศที่ไม่ใช่ประเทศบ้านเกิดของตนเอง รวมทั้งจุดประกายความงามในความหลากหลายทางชาติพันธุ์ในโลกที่ยังคงมีการเลือกปฏิบัติทางเพศ เชื้อชาติ และชนชั้นทางสังคม ศิลปินให้คำจำกัดความตนเองไม่เพียงแต่เป็น LGBTQIA+ เท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นคนไทย-จีนอีกด้วย เขาเน้นย้ำความสำคัญของความหลากหลายของอัตลักษณ์ของมนุษย์ ซึ่งความหลากหลายนี้ ทำให้มนุษย์อยู่ภายใต้ความเท่าเทียมในท้ายที่สุด

หากเรามองเห็นความงามของดอกไม้นานาพันธุ์ที่ผลิบานในสวนสาธารณะ แล้วทำไมเราจึงไม่รับรู้ถึงความงามของความหลากหลายทางชาติพันธุ์ของมนุษย์ในสังคมที่เราอาศัยอยู่?
