นิทรรศการ "ภาพ พิมพ์ ภาพ : The Edition of Printmaking" ผลงานโดย เฉลิมชัย โฆษิตพิพัฒน์ (Chalermchai Kositpipat), ปัญญา วิจินธนสาร (Panya Vijinthanasarn), ถาวร โกอุดมวิทย์ (Thavorn Ko-udomvit), ธงชัย ศรีสุขประเสริฐ (Thongchai Srisukprasert), อนุพงษ์ จันทร (Anupong Chantorn), ลำพู กันเสนาะ (Lampu Kansanoh), บุญมี แสงขำ (Boonmee Sangkhum ) และ จักรี คงแก้ว (Jakkee Kongkaew) จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 17 กรกฎาคม - 5 สิงหาคม 2563 ณ ARDEL Gallery of Modern Art : หอศิลป์ร่วมสมัยอาร์เดล

ศิลปะภาพพิมพ์เป็นอีกหนึ่งแขนงของงานศิลปะ 2 มิติ ที่มีประวัติศาสตร์ความเป็นมายาวนานนับพันปี ไม่ว่าจะเป็นภาพพิมพ์รอยประทับ (Stamping) ซึ่งพบได้มากในงานศิลปะยุคหินโบราณ ภาพพิมพ์แกะไม้ (Woodcut, Woodblock) ที่ใช้ในการทำสำเนาหนังสือตำราเก่าแก่ หรือกระทั่งภาพพิมพ์หิน (Lithograph) อันเป็นต้นกำเนิดของงานพิมพ์ฉลากสินค้ายุคแรกเริ่ม

ศักยภาพในการสร้างจำนวนพิมพ์ที่ทำได้มากกว่างานจิตรกรรม ถือเป็นเสน่ห์อีกประการหนึ่งของงานภาพพิมพ์ ซึ่งจะมีการกำหนดจำนวนที่พิมพ์ทั้งหมด (Limited Edition) อย่างชัดเจน โดยศิลปินและนักสะสม จะทราบถึงจำนวนพิมพ์ที่แน่นอนจากหมายเลขที่กำกับอยู่ใต้ภาพ ซึ่งนี่ถือเป็นลักษณะเฉพาะตัวของผลงานภาพพิมพ์ เฉกเช่นผลงานในนิทรรศการ "The Edition of Printmaking: ภาพ พิมพ์ ภาพ" ซึ่งจะนำเสนอผลงานภาพพิมพ์เมซโซตินท์ และภาพพิมพ์แกะไม้ โดยมุ่งเน้นการแสดงให้เห็นถึงคุณค่าของงานภาพพิมพ์ที่มีความสวยงามสมบูรณ์ มีการเซ็นชื่อของศิลปินและเขียนชื่อผลงาน รวมทั้งตัวเลขจำนวนพิมพ์กำกับที่ชัดเจน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นจำนวนพิมพ์ (Edition) A.P. (Artist’s Proof) T.P. (Trial Proof) และ H.C. (Hor d’commerce = not for commerce / not for sale)

ผลงานที่จัดแสดงในนิทรรศการมีความหลากหลายทั้งเทคนิคและรูปแบบการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานของศิลปินแต่ละคน อาทิ เฉลิมชัย โฆษิตพิพัฒน์ ปัญญา วิจินธนสาร ถาวร โกอุดมวิทย์ ธงชัย ศรีสุขประเสริฐ และ ลำพู กันเสนาะ ฯลฯ โดยถ่ายทอดผลงานผ่านทักษะความชำนาญของ บุญมี แสงขำ และ จักรี คงแก้ว ศิลปินและช่างพิมพ์มืออาชีพ

นิทรรศการ The Edition of Printmaking: ภาพ พิมพ์ ภาพ จะเปิดให้เข้าชมตั้งแต่วันที่ 17 กรกฎาคม 2563 และเพื่อให้เป็นไปตามมาตรการรักษาระยะทางสังคมเพื่อป้องกันการติดเชื้อโรคโควิด-19 หอศิลป์ร่วมสมัยอาร์เดล ขอความร่วมมือจากทุกท่านในการสวมหน้ากากอนามัยตลอดระยะเวลาในการเข้าชมนิทรรศการด้วยนะคะ

Printmaking is a process of creating another kind of 2-dimensional art that owns a thousand-year-long history. Being traced back as far as the ancient Paleolithic Age, this form of reproductive art is most evident from stamping works, woodcuts employed to replicate classic books or lithographs, which is the origin of the primordial product labels.

The capability to duplicate more copies than painting makes this old wisdom fascinating. Such a feature leads to a clear-cut specification of limited edition numbers at the bottom part of the paper, of which artists and art collectors are well aware. The Edition of Printmaking brings to the audience mezzotint and woodblock technique to highlight the value of stunning series of crafts completed with artists’ handwriting, signature and edition numbers, for example, A.P. (Artist’s Proof), T.P. (Trial Proof) and H.C. (Hor d’commerce = not for commerce / not for sale).

The artworks showcase incomparable characteristics of artists, namely Chalermchai Kositpipat, Panya Vijinthanasarn, Thavorn Ko-udomvit, Thongchai Srisukprasert and Lampu Kansanoh through a variety of printing methods created by Boonmee Sangkham and Jakkee Kongkaew, two experienced and professional artists/printmakers.
