สถานทูตเม็กซิโกประจำประเทศไทยร่วมกับ สำนักบริหารศิลปวัฒนธรรมจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย และ BJC/BIG C ขอเชิญชมนิทรรศการ Diego & Frida: A Smile in the Middle of the Way นิทรรศการที่จะเปิดเผยให้เห็นเรื่องราวของ Diego Rivera และ Frida Kahlo ศิลปินคู่รักชาวเม็กซิกันผู้มีชื่อเสียงโด่งดังและได้รับการยอมรับไปทั่วโลก

เรื่องราวของความรักและความขัดแย้งของคู่สามีภรรยาผู้เป็นศิลปินที่มีชื่อเสียงแห่งศตวรรษที่ 20 ซึ่งช่วงระยะเวลาที่ทั้งคู่ใช้ชีวิตร่วมกันนั้นเต็มไปด้วยเรื่องราวความใกล้ชิด การสมรู้ร่วมคิด และมิตรภาพอันลึกซึ้งระหว่างบุคคลสองคนซึ่งกินเวลาเกือบ 25 ปีจนกระทั่ง Frida Kahlo เสียชีวิต

นิทรรศการในครั้งนี้นำเสนอภาพถ่ายขาวดำซึ่งภาพถ่ายเหล่านี้ถูกถ่ายโดยเพื่อนของพวกเขา ซึ่งบางคนเป็นช่างภาพผู้มีชื่อเสียง เช่น Manuel Álvarez Bravo, Nicolas Murray และ Edward Weston โดยภาพถ่ายจะแสดงให้เห็นความแตกต่างของช่วงชีวิตของ Frida Kahlo และ Diego Rivera ทั้งในช่วงที่มีความสุข ความสำเร็จ ความทุกข์ ความเจ็บปวด ความตาย

Concept
The exhibition is made up of 44 real life photographs that reveal the wonderful world shared by Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, Mexican prolific painters who gained great worldwide recognition during and after their lifetime.

This visual timeline reveals one of the most controversial couples in the recent world history of art, united in a deeply emotional romance that lasted almost 25 years, until the passing of Frida Kahlo. Their love embraces countless contacts, closeness, complicities and deep friendship between two great personalities of a shifting time.

The photographs captured by their friends, some of them remarkable photographers, such as Manuel Álvarez Bravo, Nicolas Murray and Edward Weston, show different stages of a lifetime together, from joy and success to pain and death of the extraordinary Frida and Diego.
