นิทรรศการ Yiwarra Kuju: The Canning Stock Route

นิทรรศการผลงานศิลปะร่วมสมัยชาวพื้นเมืองออสเตรเลีย Yiwarra Kuju: The Canning Stock Route จัดโดยสถานเอกอัครราชทูตออสเตรเลีย จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 29 มิถุนายน - 19 กรกฎาคม 2558 และจะมีพิธีเปิดในวันที่ 27 มิถุนายน 2558 ณ Thavibu Gallery

The Australian Embassy is pleased to present an exhibition Yiwarra Kuju: The Canning Stock Route showcasing reproductions of contemporary Aboriginal Art from a blockbuster exhibition of the same name.

Featuring 14 graphic panels of vibrant artworks, Yiwarra Kuju tells the story of the Canning Stock Route in Western Australia from the perspectives of the Aboriginal people whose country it crossed, from the cattle stations in the Kimberley to the markets in the south.

The exhibition reveals the richness of desert life, telling the story of the historic stock route’s impact on Aboriginal people, and the importance of the country that surrounds it, through the works of senior and emerging artists and the stories of traditional custodians.

It is a story of contact, conflict and survival, of departure and return, seen through Aboriginal eyes, and interpreted through their work.

The exhibition was shown at the National Museum of Australia in 2010 and toured Australia in 2013. Exhibition in Bangkok will be on display from 29 June to 16 July 2015 at Thavibu Gallery. HE Mr Paul Robilliard, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, will preside over the opening reception on Saturday 27 June 2015 at 17.00 hrs.
