JWD Art Space เปิดประสบการณ์การชมงานศิลปะด้วยการรังสรรค์พื้นที่ห้อง Private Viewing Room ที่โดดเด่นด้วยการเป็นคอมมูนิตี้สาหรับพบปะพูดคุยท่ามกลางบรรยากาศของงานศิลปะสุดเอ็กซ์คลูซีพ ที่สามารถปรับเปลี่ยนได้ตามความต้องการ เพื่อเป็นพื้นที่สาหรับแสดงงานศิลปะ Pop-Up Exhibition สุดสร้างสรรค์ ที่หลอมรวมเข้ากับคอนเซ็ปต์ ‘The Art of living’ ได้อย่างลงตัว อีกทั้งยังให้คนรักงานศิลปะทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติได้สร้างแรงบันดาลใจและเพลิดเพลินไปกับการชมงานศิลปะร่วมสมัยหลากหลายประเภทที่ JWD Art Space คัดสรรมาเป็นอย่างดี

พร้อมเปิดตัว Pop-Up Exhibition แรกด้วยนิทรรศการ "มันส์ จุง แบร์" จัดแสดงผลงานของ 2 ศิลปิน 2 สัญชาติ ได้แก่ ปาล์ม-ปรียวิศว์ นิลจุลกะ หรือ ปาล์ม Instinct และศิลปินเกาหลี ยอนโม คู (Youenmo Koo) ซึ่งเป็นการโคจรมาพบกันของงานศิลปะไทยและเกาหลีโดยมีคาแรคเตอร์ "หมี" มาเป็นตัวเชื่อมงานศิลปะอันมีเอกลักษณ์ของทั้งสอง

ปาล์ม ปรียวิศว์ และยอนโม คู เป็นศิลปินที่สร้างผลงานได้อย่างมีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัว ทั้งสองถ่ายทอดและสอดแทรกอารมณ์สู่ชิ้นงานศิลปะได้อย่างมีชั้นเชิง หากว่าเมื่อได้ชมผลงานของทั้งสองแล้ว กลับพบว่ามีสิ่งหนึ่งที่ทั้งสองได้แชร์ร่วมกัน นั่นคือ คาแรคเตอร์ ‘หมี’ ซึ่งเป็นดั่งทูตทางวัฒนธรรมให้ศิลปะไทยและเกาหลี ได้ทาการแลกเปลี่ยน จนเกิดเป็นนิทรรศการ ‘มันส์ จุง แบร์’ ที่เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้ชมมาเพลิดเพลินและสนุกสนานไปกับการตีความคาแรคเตอร์ ‘หมี’ อันเต็มไปด้วยความหมายและสะท้อนตัวตนและของทั้งสองศิลปิน

เกี่ยวกับศิลปิน
ปรียวิศว์ นิลจุลกะ
ปาล์ม Instinct หรือ ปาล์ม-ปรียวิศว์ นิลจุลกะ เป็นอีกหนึ่งศิลปินมากความสามารถ นอกจากความสามารถด้านดนตรีเป็นทั้งนักร้อง นักแต่งเพลง ร้องเพลงได้ทั้งไทยและญี่ปุ่น เจ้าตัวยังมีความสนใจด้านงานศิลปะที่เคยจัดแสดงงานมาหลายครั้ง สาหรับนิทรรศการครั้งนี้ ปาล์ม Instinct ได้เพิ่มความสนุกและท้าทายอีกขั้นด้วยการจัดแสดงผลงานคู่ 2 ศิลปิน 2 สัญชาติ นางานศิลปะของไทยไปเจอกับเกาหลีโดยนา “หมี” มาเป็นตัวเชื่อม โดยปาล์มได้เล่าถึงการโคจรมาเจอกันในครั้งนี้ว่า

"ปกติผมทางานศิลปะคาแรคเตอร์ Bob อยู่แล้วก็จะมีเรื่องเกี่ยวพันกับตุ๊กตาหมี และยอนโมก็ทาศิลปะเกี่ยวกับหมี พูดถึงมุมมองการใช้ชีวิต การมีความสุขในชีวิตเล็ก ๆ น้อย ๆ ส่วนผมจะทาเรื่องความตาย แต่เรามีสิ่งที่เหมือนกันในงานคือ ‘หมี’ เป็นตัวเชื่อม ก็เลยอยากจะขอเชิญชวนให้ทุกคนมาร่วมพูดคุยเสพงานศิลป์สนุกๆ กันในงาน ‘มันส์ จุง แบร์’ มาปาร์ตี้กันครับ"

ยอนโม คู (Youenmo Koo)
ยอนโม คู ศิลปินชาวเกาหลี ผู้ตกหลุมรักประเทศไทย เขาจบการศึกษาปริญญาตรีและปริญญาโทจาก คณะศิลปกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยคยองซัง (Gyeongsang National University) เมืองชินจู ประเทศเกาหลีใต้ ยอนโมเป็นศิลปินผู้สร้างชื่อจากคาแรคเตอร์ Cynical Bear หรือเจ้าหมีนักเย้ยหยัน โดยมีจุดเด่นในการสวมเสื้อยืดกางเกงยีนส์ตามสมัยนิยมและมีใบหน้าที่แสดงออกถึงการเย้ยหยันซึ่งเป็นการสะท้อนความรู้สึกของศิลปินที่มีต่อสังคมปัจจุบัน

ยอนโมจัดแสดงนิทรรศการในรูปแบบต่างๆ อย่างต่อเนื่อง อาทิ นิทรรศการ "เจ้าหมีนักเย้ยหยัน" ณ อาร์ท เทอรี่ โพสต์-โมเดิร์น แกลเลอรี่ (ปี 2558), นิทรรศการ "เดินสู่หนใด?" ณ หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร (ปี 2559), นิทรรศการ "I am CB (Cynical Bear)" ณ เทรนดี้ แกลเลอรี่ (ปี 2560) โดยนิทรรศการ "มันส์ จุง แบร์" ณ JWD Art Space (ปี 2566) เป็นนิทรรศการครั้งล่าสุดของเขา

ขอเชิญร่วมปาร์ตี้งานเปิดนิทรรศการ 'มันส์ จุง แบร์' ในวันเสาร์ที่ 8 กรกฎาคม 2566 เวลา 18.00 น. เป็นต้นไป โดยนิทรรศการจะเปิดให้เข้าชมตั้งแต่วันที่ 8 กรกฎาคมถึง 8 สิงหาคม ณ ห้อง Private Viewing Room, JWD Art Space ชั้น 3 ซอยจุฬาลงกรณ์ 16 เปิดให้บริการทุกวัน (ยกเว้นวันจันทร์) ตั้งแต่เวลา 10.00 -19.00 น.

JWD Art Space is embarking on an exciting new journey by transforming our Private Viewing Room into a space for Pop-Up exhibitions that seamlessly blend with the concept of "The Art of Living." This unique room stands out as a vibrant art community where individuals can exclusively exchange ideas and immerse themselves in a captivating artistic atmosphere. Through this adaptation, the space has become a perfect setting for hosting a variety of Pop-Up exhibitions allowing both Thai and International art enthusiasts to find inspiration and delight in a diverse selection of artistic expressions at JWD Art Space.

To kickstart this extraordinary journey, we proudly present our inaugural Pop-Up exhibition, "Mun Jung Bear”, featuring the works of two talented artists from different nationalities: Preyawit Nilachulaka, widely known as Palm Instinct and a Korean artist, Youenmo Koo. This exhibition serves as a dynamic platform where Thai and Korean art come together, converging in a captivating exploration of creativity and cultural exchange. At the heart of the show is the character of a bear, which acts as a symbol connecting the artists' distinct approaches and narratives.

Preyawit Nilachulaka and Youenmo Koo are two talented artists who have independently crafted remarkable works that effectively express and narrate their emotions and stories. While their artistic styles may differ, a striking similarity emerges when examining their works – the presence of a bear character. The bear character becomes a cultural ambassador facilitating an exchange between Thai and Korean art, which culminates in the exhibition "Mun Jung Bear”. This gives a unique opportunity for visitors to appreciate the intricate narratives and delve into the layers of meaning behind the bear symbol.

About the artists
Preyawit Nilachulaka
Palm Instinct, also known as Preyawit Nilachulaka, is a multi-talented artist who excels not only in music but also in the field of fine art. Apart from his skills in music composition and singing in both Thai and Japanese languages, Preyawit has a deep passion in visual art. He has showcased his works in various exhibitions. However, the upcoming exhibition presents a new and exciting challenge for him as his works will be displayed alongside those of another artist from a different nationality. This show serves as a remarkable platform that facilitates the connection between Thai and Korean art through the common theme of a bear character. Palm reflects on the collaboration, expressing:

"In my previous works, I have often centered around a character named Bob, which sometimes includes the presence of a teddy bear. Interestingly, Youenmo's works also revolve around the bear character, but from a different perspective that reflects his outlook on life and brings a sense of happiness. Although my works may explore themes of death, one thing that connects us is the presence of the bear character. Therefore, I extend a heartfelt invitation to everyone to engage in conversations and enjoy themselves at the opening party of 'Mun Jung Bear'."

Youenmo Koo
Youenmo Koo is a Korean artist who has developed a deep admiration for Thailand. He obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Fine Art from Gyeongsang National University in Jinju, South Korea. He has gained recognition for his creation of a distinctive character known as "The Cynical Bear." This character is characterized by its attire, often seen wearing a T-shirt and jeans, and its facial expression, which exudes cynicism. Through the portrayal of "The Cynical Bear," Youenmo offers a reflection of his own cynical perspective on society.

His works have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions including ‘Cynical Bear in Bangkok’ at Artery Post-Modern Gallery (2015), ‘Where are we going now?’ at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (2016) and ‘I am CB (Cynical Bear) at Trendy Gallery (2017) and his most recent exhibition ‘Mun Jung Bear’ (2023) at JWD Art Space.

You are cordially invited to attend the opening party of the exhibition 'Mun Jung Bear' on Saturday, July 8, 2023, starting from 6 PM onwards. The exhibition will be open to the public from July 8 to August 8 at Private Viewing Room, JWD Art Space located on the 3rd floor of Soi Chulalongkorn 16 with daily opening hours from 10 AM to 7 PM (closed on Mondays).
