นิทรรศการศิลปะ "Hopefully" ผลงานโดย กรกฎ สังข์น้อย (Korakot Sangnoy) และ มูฮัมหมัดซุริยี มะซู (Muhammadsuriyee Masu) จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 3 มิถุนายน - 27 สิงหาคม 2566 และจะมีพิธีเปิดในวันเสาร์ที่ 3 มิถุนายน 2566 ตั้งแต่เวลา 16.00 น. ณ VS 24 Gallery
VS Gallery ภูมิใจเสนอ Hopefully นิทรรศการศิลปะคู่โดย กรกฎ สังข์น้อย ศิลปินชาวพุทธ และ มูฮัมหมัดซุริยี มะซู ศิลปินมุสลิม จาก Patani Artspace ภัณฑารักษ์โดย อนุวัฒน์ อภิมุขมงคล Anuwat Apimukmongkon ซึ่งจะถ่ายทอดความหวังที่มีร่วมกันของผู้คนต่างความเชื่อในพื้นที่สามจังหวัดภาคใต้ เสาร์ที่ 3 มิถุนายนนี้

"Man is born free and everywhere he is in chains."
"มนุษย์เกิดมาเสรี แต่ทุกแห่งทุกที่อยู่ในพันธนาการ" (Jean-Jacques Rousseau: 1974)นี่อาจเป็นคํากล่าวที่ไม่อาจปฏิเสธได้เลย ว่ามนุษย์ผู้มีเจตจํานงเสรีกลับถูกจองจําด้วยโซ่ตรวนของ สังคม ที่เราร่วมผลิตซ้ํามันอยู่เสมอ ไม่ใช่มนุษย์อย่างเราหรอกหรือที่สร้างอํานาจขึ้นมาและถูกปกครองด้วย อํานาจนั้นเสียเอง ไม่ใช่มนุษย์อย่างเราหรอกหรือที่สร้างกฎเกณฑ์-กฎหมายมาเพื่อใช้กดขังพวกเราด้วยกันเอง และไม่ใช่มนุษย์อย่างเราหรอกหรือที่ประกอบสร้างสิ่งมายาทั้งปวงให้เป็นกรงไก่1ขนาดใหญ่ ใช้กักขังเสรีภาพ ระหว่างกัน รู้ตัวอีกทีเราก็กลายเป็นมนุษย์ที่ถูกมัดให้หลงไปกับเงาในถ้ําของเพลโต2เสียแล้ว สภาพแวดล้อมอัน เสื่อมโทรม การแย่งชิงอํานาจ การต่อสู้ทางการเงิน ชนชั้นทางสังคม สงคราม ความรุนแรง จึงเป็นผล ประกอบการชั้นเลิศของสิ่งเหล่านี้
เฉกเช่นกับพื้นที่ที่จะถูกกล่าวถึงในนิทรรศการในครั้งนี้ ที่ไม่ว่าจะเป็นพื้นที่ห่างไกลหรือมีขนาดเล็กแค่ ไหนในแผนที่โลก โซ่ตรวนและพันธนาการทางสังคมก็ยังคงตามไปล่ามเราทุกๆที่ เพราะมนุษย์ก็ยังคงต้องการ สังคมเพื่อดํารงอยู่ เพียงแต่เราต้องเลือกว่าจะมีชีวิตอยู่ในสังคมแบบไหน จะรับมือหรือแก้ไขมันอย่างไร ด้วย ความหวัง
กรกฎ สังข์น้อย ศิลปินผู้นับถือศาสนาพุทธ ซึ่งแตกต่างจากคนส่วนใหญ่ในสังคมพื้นที่จังหวัดชายแดน ใต้ ที่นับถือศาสนาอิสลาม พยายามเรียนรู้และทําความเข้าใจถึงแก่นแกนของมนุษย์ในศาสนาอื่นๆ ในขณะที่มู ฮัมหมัดซุรียี มะซู ศิลปินผู้นับถือศาสนาอิสลาม ซึ่งแตกต่างจากผู้คนส่วนใหญ่ในประเทศนี้ที่นับถือศาสนาพุธ ก็ พยายามเรียนรู้และทําความเข้าใจผู้คนต่างถิ่นเช่นกัน ผลงานของศิลปินทั้งสองคนจึงสะท้อนเจตจํานงเสรีของ กันและกัน โดยกรกฎเปรียบเทียบชนชั้นและอํานาจทางสังคมของไทยที่ถูกทําให้อยู่ในรูปของวัตถุบูชา กับหลัก สามัญของศาสนาอิสลามที่เชื่อในพระเจ้าโดยปราศจากการบูชารูปลักษณ์หรือวัตถุใดๆ รูปบุคคลที่ควรบูชา สําหรับกรกฎจึงเป็นบิดา-มารดา ผู้ให้กําเนิด ไม่ใช่บุคคลในมายาคติแต่อย่างใด และภาพวาดดอกทานตะวันสี ทองนับร้อย ยิ่งตอกย้ําการเบ่งบานของความหวังในการมีอิสระที่จะเลือกสังคมที่เราอยากจะอยู่ สีที่เรา อยากจะเป็น และนกฉลุลายของมูฮัมหมัดซุรียี ที่ใช้แทนความถึงมนุษย์ที่งามด้วยความหลากหลาย แต่ถูกฉุด รั้งไม่ให้โบยบิน ด้วยบ่วงของความเกลียดกลัวและความไม่เข้าใจ ที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นจากผู้มีอํานาจ และการหล่อ หลอมอุดมคติอันแข็งกร้าวจากประวัติศาสตร์ที่ใครบางคนเขียนขึ้น การสื่อสารผ่านผลงานศิลปะของศิลปินสอง คนนี้จึงไม่ใช่การเรียกร้องให้เราทุกคนเชื่อในแบบเดียวกัน แต่เพียงเพื่อสะท้อนภาพความจริงในฐานะผู้ที่อยู่ ด้วยกันในเรือนจําแห่งนี้ ด้วยความหวังว่า... ดอกไม้จะแย้มกลีบสีทองผ่องอําไพ และนกจะกางปีกบินออกไป ด้วยเสรี
Hopefully จัดแสดงที่ VS 24 ซอยนราธิวาส 24 (วัดโพธิ์แมน) ตั้งแต่วันที่ 3 มิถุนายน จนถึง 27 สิงหาคม 2023 โดยมีพิธีเปิดในวันเสาร์ที่ 3 มิถุนายน ตั้งแต่เวลา 4 โมงเย็นเป็นต้นไป

"Man is born free and everywhere he is in chains."
- Jean-Jacques Rousseau: 1974 -It is undeniable to accept that human being with free will would turn out to be imprisoned by chains that our society always reproduce. Is this not because we have created law and regulation in order to rule and imprison ourselves? Or is this not because human beings like us have constructed sets of myths as a large cage to deprive our freedom? And now we just realised that we have become living beings who gott lost in Plato’s cave. And deteriorated environment, relentless struggles for power and money, discrimination of class and race, war and violence are all consequence of our actions.
This phenomenon can be applied to the area mentioned in this art exhibition, no matter how far or how small that area is, invisible chains called social commitment would continue to hunt us down because we human beings always want society to exist, only choice can do is to decide what kind of society we can handle and adjust, hopefully.
Korakot Sangnoy, a buddhist artist, is different from the majority of people in southernmost part of Thailand who believe in Islam. He tries to learn and understand the essence of human in perspectives of other religions. While Muhammadsuriyee Masu, a muslim artist, is different from majority of this buddhist country population, he also tries to learn and understand people from other areas. Artworks from these two artists reflect free will of each other. Korakot Sangnoy compared culture of social class and power in Thailand, which are transformed into objects of worship, with Islamic principle of worshiping God without any physically idolised objects. For Korakot, the ones who deserve his worship are his own father and mother, not any mythical persons. And paintings of hundred golden sunflowers emphasises the growing hope to live freely in the society we want to belong. Muhammadsuriyee chose stencil birds to represent the diversity of mankind beauty. This beauty was hold back from liberation by the chains of hatred and ignorance which are tightly tied by authorities and education of cold-hearted ideal historic lessons written outside their homeland. The aesthetics and messages from Korakot and Muhammadsuriyee in "Hopefully" exhibition never ask audiences to believe in the same thing, but the artists only aim to reflect the truth as they are your prison mate in this jail called society, with a hope that in some days, flowers will bloom in golden and birds will spread wings and fly free.
Hopefully will be exhibited at VS 24 Gallery, soi Narathiwas 24 from 3 June to 27 August 2023 with opening ceremony on Saturday 3 June on 4 PM.
