นิทรรศการภาพถ่าย "อินเดียมายเลิฟ : India My Love" ผลงานโดย นครินทร์ ธีระภินันท์ (Nakarin Teerapenun) หรือ กอล์ฟ T-Bone จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 11 พฤศจิกายน - 27 ธันวาคม 2565 และจะมีพิธีเปิดในวันศุกร์ที่ 11 พฤศจิกายน 2565 เวลา 18.30 น. ณ คัดมันดู โฟโต้ แกลเลอรี่ : Kathmandu Photo Gallery

ภาพถ่ายเหมือนฝันราวพรประหลาดจากฟ้าชุดนี้  เป็นผลผลิตของการเผชิญหน้ากับความกลัวอินเดียของช่างภาพไทยรักสะอาด  ผู้ค้นพบว่าเขากลับตกหลุมรักอินเดียอย่างลึกซึ้งและง่ายดาย  และที่รักของเขาไม่ใช่อินเดียของนักท่องเที่ยว

ปี 2556 มือกีตาร์วงเร็กเก้/สกา (Reggae/Ska) วงทีโบน (T-Bone) ชื่อดัง กอล์ฟ – นครินทร์ ธีระภินันท์ หันมาสนใจถ่ายภาพแนวสตรีทอย่างจริงจัง เพราะวิถีการถ่ายภาพแนวนี้ต้องใช้ความรู้สึก สัญชาตญาณ การคาดคะเน ทั้งต้องปลดปล่อย  เปิดรับ ให้ตัวเองอิสระ ลื่นไหล ไปกับสิ่งแวดล้อมรอบข้าง  คล้ายกับการเล่นกีตาร์ด้นสด (Improvisation) ที่เขาถนัด  แต่แทนที่จะเลือกเริ่มต้นเดินถ่ายรูปไปตามฟุธบาทถนนกรุงเทพที่คุ้นเคย  เขากลับบินไปลุยท้องถนนและฝูงชนอันแปลกแยกที่อินเดีย

“คุณลองนึกภาพประเทศอย่างอินเดีย  ที่มีแต่ภาพ แสง สี เสียง …หันไปมุมไหนก็มีแต่ภาพที่น่าถ่าย  มีทั้งความงดงามความอลังการ  ความสับสนอลหม่าน รูป รส กลิ่นเสียง มาหมด  ผมมองไปทางไหนไม่มีอะไรที่ธรรมดา  ไม่มีอะไรไม่น่าถ่ายเลย ผมเลยลองตั้งโจทย์ใหม่ให้กับตัวเอง  ให้ถ่ายอะไรก็ได้ที่ธรรมดาที่สุด” กอล์ฟให้เหตุผลของการเลือกสถานที่ที่ท้าทายเหมือนคนหัดว่ายน้ำกระโจนสู่ทะเลลึก

พระศิวะที่กำลังจมน้ำท่วมขณะยื่นพระหัตถ์ (มือหญิงสาว) ทาเล็บสีเขียว (สีเดียวกับน้ำท่วม) จับราวเหล็กสแตนเลสเอาไว้  พยายามประคองพระกายให้พระนาสิกพ้นน้ำหายใจ  นี่คือภาพเด็ดภาพจำที่สะท้อนและเตือนภัยสภาวะโลกร้อน ยุคน้ำท่วมโลก ที่คุ้มค่าแก่ความมุ่งมั่นอดทนของกอล์ฟ  และนี่คือหนึ่งในอีกหลายภาพเด่นจากชุด “อินเดียมายเลิฟ” (India My Love) ที่ชวนให้ผู้ชมจ้องมองด้วยความพิศวงกับมุมมองแปลกๆของช่างภาพนักดนตรี  

มานิต ศรีวานิชภูมิ ภัณฑารักษ์ของคัดมันดู โฟโต้ แกลเลอรี่ กล่าวว่า “อินเดียเป็นดาราหน้ากล้องของช่างภาพหลายๆคน  ภาพอินเดียมีอยู่ล้นโลก  จึงไม่ใช่เรื่องง่ายที่ใครจะถ่ายภาพอินเดียให้โดดเด่น และแตกต่าง  แต่กอล์ฟก็ยังสามารถทำได้ ด้วยการผสมผสานแง่มุมอารมณ์ขัน ภาพแนวเซอร์เหนือจริง ความอ่อนโยน และความจริงใจ เอาไว้ในผลงานชุดอินเดียของเขา”

กอล์ฟ – นครินทร์ ธีระภินันท์ (เกิด 2508 เบตง, ยะลา) จบวิทยาลัยช่างศิลป์ ปัจจุบันเป็นอาจารย์สอนกีตาร์แจ๊ส มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร และนักกีตาร์นำวงทีโบน

These images of strange grace are the fruit of a confrontation with India phobia in the mind of a fastidious Thai photographer obsessed with cleanliness, who upon arrival there instantly found himself in deep and effortless surrender to his irresistible love for the land that he had feared. And his Beloved is not the beauty tourists come for, however seductive the temptation.

Starting in 2013 Nakarin Teerapenun aka ‘Golf’, the lead guitarist for legendary reggae band T-Bone, was inspired to take up street photography seriously. This photographic discipline requires on the spot instinctive responses along with a complete willingness to let go of all reservations and preconceptions; to go with the flow – not unlike the improvisational guitar playing of his day job. But instead of starting on the familiar streets of Bangkok, he opted to dive head first into the alien streets and crowds of India.

Nakarin explains his compulsion to dive in at the deep end: “There I was in this vibrant, spiritual, wild and crazy place full of amazing and exotic photo ops begging to be shot on every corner. Yet, I had set myself the task of looking for the mundane. It was really hard because the sights and sounds were intoxicating and I had to restrain myself from just snapping away like a tourist.”

In one outstanding image Lord Shiva is submerged up to his nose; in the foreground a hand, with nail varnish the same green as the flood water, grips a metal railing, as if in this climate crisis even God is trying to save Himself from drowning. Courage and perseverance clearly paid off in this fascinating vision from the strange perspective of the musician-photographer.

Curator Manit Sriwanichpoom: “India is the muse for many photographers; the world abounds with pictures of India. It’s not an easy thing to capture stand-out images of India, but Nakarin has managed to achieve this with his lyrical blend of humour, surrealism, tenderness and sincerity.”

Nakarin ‘Golf’ Teerapenun (b1965 in Betong, Yala in South Thailand) graduated from the College of Fine Arts. He teaches jazz guitar at Silpakorn University of Fine Arts and is the lead guitarist for the legendary reggae band T-Bone.
