นิทรรศการ "YOUNIVERSE" ผลงานโดย เมธี น้อยจินดา (May-T Noisejinda) จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 3 - 9 ตุลาคม 2565 และจะมีพิธีเปิดในวันจันทร์ที่ 3 ตุลาคม 2565 เวลา 15.30 น. ณ FAAMAI Dome บริเวณข้างอุทยาน 100 ปี จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย

เมธี น้อยจินดา มือกีต้าร์วงโมเดิร์นด็อก เข้าสู่วงการศิลปะอย่างจริงจัง จนได้สร้างสรรค์ งานเสียงเป็นศิลปะ อันเข้มข้นเมื่อ 3 ปีที่แล้ว ในนิทรรศการแสดงเดี่ยว Thru Air on Key Strings ที่ SAC Gallery ผลงานชุดนี้สะกดคนดูให้นั่งฟังศิลปะแห่งเสียงของเขาได้นานกว่า 50 นาที ในปี 2565 นี้ เมธีกลับมาสร้างศิลปะแห่งเสียงอีกครั้งในนิทรรศการ YOUNIVERSE นิทรรศการครั้งนี้ออกแบบและจัดวางผลงานทางด้างเสียงให้สัมพันธ์กับพื้นที่ (Site Specific Sound Installation) ท้าทายกับพื้นที่จัดแสดงอย่าง FAAMAI Dome โดมขนาดใหญ่ที่มีเส้นผ่าศูนย์กลาง 35​ เมตร สูงถึง 17 เมตร ด้วยลักษณะของพื้นที่นี้ทำให้เกิดลักษณะเฉพาะของเสียงสะท้อนสูงมาก ศิลปินจึงดึงเอาเอกลักษณ์ ของเสียงในพื้นที่เข้าสู่กระบวนการการคิด การสร้างและการรับรู้ โดยผู้ชม จะมีส่วนร่วมในการสร้างงานจากเสียงที่ได้ยิน ที่เปล่งออกจากทางด้านข้าง ไต่โค้งขึ้นผนังไปจนถึงจุดศูนย์กลาง แล้วดิ่งกลับลงมาด้านล่าง เมธีเลือกที่จะสร้างเสียงอวกาศอันสอดคล้องไปกับบรรยากาศของ FAAMAI Dome รวมถึงการเล่นแร่แปรธาตุกับเสียงให้แปลกออกไป คล้ายเดินเข้าสู่มิติอวกาศอันน่าฉงน ใจความสำคัญของผลงานชิ้นนี้อยู่ที่อวกาศภายในของผู้ชม ซึ่งศิลปินได้ เชื่อมโยงกับเรื่องของจักระทั้ง 7 ภายในร่างกายของคนเรา เขาสร้างสรรค์เสียงต่าง ๆ ที่เปล่งออกมาและจัดวาง ตำแหน่งของแหล่งกำเนิดเสียงสื่อถึงอวกาศภายในให้หมุนเวียนไปกับจุดจักระทั้ง 7 รวมถึงสอดคล้องไปกับเสียงแห่งดวงดาวและความว่างของอวกาศภายนอก ผลงานชิ้นนี้ศิลปินตั้งใจให้ผู้ชมงานได้ยินเป็นเพียงคลื่นเสียงสูง ต่ำ ค่อย ๆ ดังมาประกอบกัน เกิดเป็นประติมากรรมเสียง (Sound Sculpture) ซึ่งมองไม่เห็นด้วยตาเปล่าเหมือนประติมากรรมทั่วไป แต่ผู้ชมจะ สัมผัสได้จากการรับรู้ถึงระยะห่าง กาล-อวกาศ (Spacetime) และการวิ่งไปมาของเสียง

ศิลปินจึงเชิญชวนให้ผู้ชมมาร่วมกันปั้นเสียงให้เป็นประติมากรรม โดยให้ตำแหน่งการยืน ระยะ การเคลื่อนที่ของผู้ชมเองเป็นตัวกำหนดอาการของเสียงที่เปลี่ยนไป คล้ายกับการบำบัดตนเอง ด้วยความสมดุลของเสียง ความ สั่นสะเทือนในจุดที่เหมาะกับตัวเอง อีกทั้งกลุ่มผู้ชมยังสามารถเล่นเสียงร่วมกันได้ ทำให้เกิดความบิดเบี้ยวของเสียงจนเป็นเสน่ห์อันน่าประหลาดในอวกาศแห่งเสียงนี้

Thailand's sound maestro and Modern Dog guitarist, May-T Noisejinda, created the avant-garde sound phenomenon that generated a ripple in the alternative culture. He had entered the art world with passion, so he developed unique sound art for his solo exhibition "Thru Air on Key Strings" at SAC Gallery three years ago. The artist mesmerized the audience for nearly 50 minutes as they sat and listened to his sound art; today, he returns to urge audiences to make sound art together at the YOUNIVERSE exhibition. In order to confront the physical impacts of the performance venue, the artist has connected his sound art with site-specific sound installation. It is a large dome with a diameter of 35 meters and a height of 17 meters that produces a unique sound with a lot of reverb and delay. As a result, the artist, May-T, incorporates the uniqueness of the space sound into the creative process, including involvement in developing the audience's work from the sound that radiates from the side. Slowly climbing the curve up the wall to the middle, then plummeting back down to the bottom. The artist decided to produce space sounds that were in sync with the ambience of the dome. Likewise, experiment with the alchemy of sound in a new way to make the audience feel like entering into a space realm. Not only refer to the outer universe, but the essence of this sound piece also focuses on the inner universe of oneself. The artist connects this notion to the art and science of Chakra, which comprises 7 crucial focal points in one’s body and used in various ancient meditation practices. The specific sounds are created, and the positions to amplify are arranged to present manipulating the flow of subtle energy through chakra. These also relate to the planet and the spatial sound of the outer universe. The significance of this work lies in the artist's intent for what the audience will hear as the gradual sound waves that make up the sound sculpture. Although invisible or a tangible object like sculptures, it is palpable through the perception of distance of spacetime and the penetration of sound.

As a result, the artist encourages the audience to join him in transforming the sound into a sculpture. The characteristics of the sound alteration are determined by the audience's standing position, distance, and movement. This can be regarded as a therapy to heal oneself with the balance of sound or vibrating on the right spot of each audience. The audience can also participate by manipulating their own voices together, creating sound distortion that awakens a peculiar fascination in this sonic environment.
