นิทรรศการ Timirbhu: the New World Order เป็นการนำเสนอวรรณคดีเรื่องไตรภูมิพระร่วง ฉบับพระยาลิไท วรรณคดีสมัยสุโขทัยเรื่องนี้พรรณนาถึงจักรวาลวิทยาที่ประกอบไปด้วยภพภูมิต่าง ๆ รวมถึงสวรรค์และนรก อีกทั้งเรื่องราวการกำเนิดและการล่มสลายของมนุษยชาติ ศิลปินต้องการ เชื่อมโยงช่องว่างระหว่างวรรณกรรมกับเทคโนโลยี รวมไปถึงอดีตอันไกลโพ้นกับโลกร่วมสมัย ด้วยการนำวิธีการทางภาษาศาสตร์คอมพิวเตอร์เข้ามาพินิจวิเคราะห์ตัวบทวรรณคดี และสร้างแบบจำลองภาษาที่จะเรียบเรียงไตรภูมิพระร่วงขึ้นใหม่ โดยศิลปินทำงานร่วมกับ ผศ.ดร.อรรถพล ธำรงรัตนฤทธิ์ และนิสิตจากสาขาวิชาเทคโนโลยีภาษาและสารสนเทศ คณะอักษรศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย

เนื้อหาของวรรณคดีที่สังเคราะห์ขึ้นใหม่จะจัดแสดงร่วมกับงานศิลปะจัดวาง ประกอบไปด้วยชิ้นงานสองมิติและสามมิติที่ศิลปินได้แรงบันดาลใจจากกระบวนการทำงานและเนื้อหาสาระของไตรภูมิที่สร้างขึ้นใหม่ ด้วยเป้าประสงค์ที่จะสร้างบทสนทนาให้ผู้ชมได้พิจารณาถึงวรรณคดีในบริบทใหม่ เป็นการธำรงมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมให้ยังโลดเล่นอยู่ในการรับรู้ของผู้คนในโลกร่วมสมัย รวมไปถึงต่อยอดไปสู่การพิจารณาอดีต พิเคราะห์ปัจจุบัน เพื่อเชื่อมโยงไปยังอนาคตอย่างมีรากฐานและมีความริเริ่มสร้างสรรค์ผ่านวัตกรรมและเทคโนโลยี

Timirbhu: the New World Order is an exhibition about a Thai Literature “Traibhumikatha” the story of the three planes of existence written by Phraya Lithai of Sukhothai (Maha Thammaracha I). This Literature from Sukhothai period portrays Buddhist cosmology that consisted of different realms, including Heaven and Hell, and the story of the birth and the fall of humankind. The artist created the artworks with an inspiration to connect the void between literature and technology, the distant past and the contemporary world. The artist explored the subject by using a computational linguistics approach to analyze the literature and create a new language model to rewrite a new version of “Traibhumikatha”, co-created with Dr. Attapol Thamrongrattanarit and students from Language and Information Technologies major, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University.

A newly-defined version of the literature will be displayed along with 2D and 3D installation artworks inspired by the work process and contents from this new interpretation of “Traibhumikatha”. The artist aims to create a dialogue with audience to look at the literature in a different version of context, with a hope to maintain a cultural inheritance within the mind of people of our contemporary society. And to encourage people to further discuss about the past, reflect on our present, and connect to the future with creativity that integrated with innovations and technologies.
