อัตตา แกลเลอรี่ มีความยินดีนำเสนองานนิทรรศการเดี่ยวร่วมกันของสองศิลปินต่างชาติ ต่างภาษา ต่างวัย ที่มีการนำเสนองานเครื่องประดับศิลป์ร่วมสมัย และ object art โดย จิโร่ คามาตะ และ งานภาพถ่ายโดย ชลัช กาญจนรัตนากร

งานเปิดนิทรรศการจะมีขึ้นในวันเสาร์ที่ 6 สิงหาคม 2565 ระหว่าง เวลา 18:00 – 20:00 น. ศิลปินทั้ง สองจะมาร่วมงานเปิดนิทรรศการเพื่อพูดคุยกับแขกที่เข้าชมงาน

เมื่อเราถ่ายภาพ เราจะมองผ่านเลนส์กล้องถ่ายภาพออกไปยังอีกฝั่ง ซึ่งในขณะเดียวกัน เลนส์กล้องถ่ายภาพก็สะท้อนกลับให้เห็นถึงความเป็นตัวตนของเรา เพราะเราเป็นคนที่ตัดสินใจจะเก็บภาพอะไรบางอย่างจากมุมมองส่วนตัวของเราเอง

ในกรณีนี้ เลนส์กล้องถ่ายภาพ ทำหน้าที่เป็นตัว “แบ่งแยก” และ “เชื่อมต่อ” โลกสองโลกเข้าด้วยกัน นั่นคือ “โลกส่วนตัว” และ ”โลกภายนอก” ของผู้ถ่ายภาพ แต่เมื่อเรามองภาพถ่ายของคนอื่น เราจะมองภาพถ่ายนั้นผ่านเลนส์อีกเลนส์หนึ่งที่ทำให้เกิดการแปลความหมาย เกิดมุมมอง เกิดการเล่าเรื่อง และเกิดการสร้างความหมายของเราเองกับรูปภาพนั้นๆ ซึ่งเปรียบได้ว่า “โลก” อีกโลกหนึ่งได้ถูกสร้างขึ้นมานอกเหนือไปจาก “โลกส่วนตัว”และ “โลกภายนอก” ของผู้ถ่ายภาพ

เลนส์กล้องถ่ายภาพยังทำหน้าที่เชื่อมต่อศิลปินสองคนในการแสดงนิทรรศการเดี่ยวร่วมกันในครั้งนี้ และเลนส์กล้องถ่ายภาพก็ยังทำให้เห็นถึงความแตกต่างในการนำเสนอและกระบวนการทำงานของศิลปินทั้งสองอีกด้วย
จิโร่ คามาตะ เป็นศิลปินญี่ปุ่นที่เกิดในปี ค.ศ. 1978 ที่พำนักอยู่ในเมืองมิวนิก ประเทศเยอรมนี หลังจบการศึกษาจาก Academy of Fine Arts Munich ภายใต้ศิลปินชื่อดัง Otto Kunzli ในปีค.ศ. 2006 เขาทำงานศิลปะในรูปแบบของเครื่องประดับศิลป์ร่วมสมัยโดยใช้เลนส์กล้องถ่ายรูปที่ใช้แล้วมาเป็นวัสดุหลักในการสร้างสรรค์งานเครื่องประดับ และ งานศิลปะของเขาในช่วงเวลา20 ปีที่ผ่านมา โดยมีการใช้เทคนิคแปลกใหม่ในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานอยู่เสมอ ในครั้งนี้เขาได้ทำการทดลองผ่านการใช้สี PVD เคลือบเลนส์ ทั้ง เลนส์นูน และ เลนส์เว้า เพื่อสร้างภาพสะท้อนที่หลากหลาย และ น่าสนใจขึ้นไปกว่าเดิม ซึ่งสำหรับเขาแล้วเลนส์ไม่ได้สร้างแค่ภาพสะท้อนความเป็นจริง แต่อาจเปลี่ยนมุมมองของเราได้อีกด้วย

ชลัช กาญจนรัตนากร เป็นศิลปินทัศนศิลป์สัญชาติไทยรุ่นใหม่ ที่เกิดในปี ค.ศ.1993 ถึงแม้ว่าเขาจะเคยศึกษาด้านสถาปัตยกรรมจาก Monash University ประเทศออสเตรเลีย เขาค้นพบภายหลังว่าการถ่ายภาพนั้นเป็นสื่อในการแสดงออกที่เป็นธรรมชาติที่สุดสำหรับเขา ภาพถ่ายของชลัชสื่อสารจากพื้นที่ภายในที่สามารถเข้าถึงได้ดีที่สุดผ่านมุมมองของเลนส์กล้องถ่ายภาพ โดยภาพถ่ายของเขามักจะมีสีที่จำกัดและมีองค์ประกอบที่ละเอียดอ่อน การถ่ายภาพทำหน้าที่เป็นภาษาสำหรับเขาในการสื่อสารทั้งกับตัวเขาเองและคนรอบข้าง

ในนิทรรศการเดี่ยวร่วมของศิลปินทั้งสองนี้ “โลก” ของจิโร่ และ “โลก” ของชลัช ได้ถูกนำมาจัดแสดงร่วมกันในห้องแสดงนิทรรศการเพื่อที่ผู้เข้าชมงานนิทรรศการจะสามารถ “เปรียบเทียบ” และ “เชื่อมโยง” โลกของเขาทั้งสองได้ ในขณะเดียวกัน ผู้ชมผลงานนิทรรศการก็สามารถสร้าง “โลก” ขึ้นมาอีกโลกหนึ่ง โดยการสร้างบทสนทนาของตนเองกับผลงานของศิลปินทั้งสองได้เช่นเดียวกัน

นิทรรศการนี้มีการแสดงให้เห็นถึงมุมมอง 3 มุมมองที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นมาในหลากหลายบริบทจากการมีปฏิสัมพันธ์กันระหว่างศิลปิน งานศิลปะที่จัดแสดง และ ผู้ชมงานศิลปะในนิทรรศการ ซึ่งเทียบเคียงได้กับงานภาพพิมพ์ที่ชื่อว่า Three Worlds ที่ถูกพิมพ์ขึ้นมาเป็นครั้งแรกในปี ค.ศ. 1955 ของ M. C. Escher ที่แสดงให้เห็นถึงมุมมอง 3 มุมมองผ่านสิ่งที่สามารถเห็นได้ใต้นํ้า บน ผิวนํ้า และ เงาที่สะท้อนลงบนผิวนํ้า ดังนั้นอาจพูดได้ว่าศิลปินทั้งสอง และ ผู้เข้าชมงานนิทรรศการ ได้ทำการสร้าง โลก 3 โลก (THREE WORLDS) ขึ้นอยู่ตลอดเวลาในพื้นที่แสดงงานนิทรรศการนี้ก็ว่าได้

When taking photographs, one looks through a camera lens out into the world, capturing what’s outside of oneself. Yet, what the lens captures is very often reflective of oneself, as one actively decides on what to capture based on one’s own perspectives.
A camera lens becomes what separates and joins the two “worlds” together—the inner world and the outer world of one’s “self”.

While viewing another person’s photograph, one creates through a different lens yet another personal layer of interpretation, perspective, narrative and meaning with the photograph. Therefore, a third dimension—a third world—beyond the inner world and outer world of a photographer’s self, is created.
Camera lenses link two artists together in this joint solo exhibition, while also make apparent of the differences in their practices. Jiro Kamata (b. 1978) is a Japanese contemporary jewelry artist who was trained as a goldsmith in Japan and Germany and is now based in Munich, Germany after finishing his study at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich under Otto Kunzli in 2006. He has been using used camera lenses as his main materials for creating his contemporary jewelry and art objects in many innovative ways for the past 20 years. With the new series Holon, Jiro experimented withdifferent colors of PVD coating on concave and convex camera lenses to create different types of reflections. To him, these lenses not only reflect our reality, but they may also change our perception.

Chalat Kanjanaratanakorn (b. 1993) is an emerging Thai visual artist based in Bangkok, Thailand. Although once trained in architecture from Monash University in Australia, he found photography his most natural medium. His photographs, subdued in colors and delicate in compositions, speak from a place best, if not only, accessible by photography. He uses photography as a language, through camera lenses, to interact with himself and others.

In this joint solo exhibition, Jiro’s and Chalat’s “worlds” are displayed side-by-side in the exhibition room, allowing viewers to connect and compare the two “worlds” and at the same time, create a personal dialogue with the artworks to transpire another “world”.

This exhibition is comparable to a lithograph print titled Three Worlds by M. C. Escher first printed in 1955, in that three perspectives are created in many contexts within the exhibition space. Therefore, through the lens of this joint solo exhibition, THREE WORLDS are being actively and simultaneously realized by the artists and the art viewers.
