At Kalwit Studio & Gallery / Free Entrance"Cross Over" is an art organization that organizes international exhibitions and art fairs founded by Peddy Pot (Yashiro Hiroyuki), a graphic artist and exhibitor who has shown his work in international exhibitions throughout Southeast and East Asia. "Cross Over" seeks to provide opportunities for artists of various genres, such as graphic designers, painters, performers, photographers, and so on, to exhibit in international art exhibitions held primarily in Asian countries.
The meaning of "Cross Over" is the point at which artworks of various styles and visitors can interact in international art exhibitions, allowing all participants to broaden their perspectives and obtain new values.
We focus on Asia because it is easily accessible from Japan and because artists will be able to immerse themselves in the vitality of each region, where development has been rapid, something that cannot be experienced in Japan at the moment. This, in turn, is expected to influence how artists think, allowing them to work more flexible and at a faster pace.
In addition, we would like to encourage artists not to be complacent with their current environments, and to understand that they can also work in other countries and regions through exhibitions. We believe that this will be a boost for artists to expand their scope of activities in the future.
Many visitors to our exhibitions were surprised to learn that there are so many interesting Japanese creators and artists who have yet to be discovered, as the number of people interested in Japanese culture and art has grown. We hope that our efforts will help show the rest of the world a different side of Japan.
We are currently planning exhibitions in Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Myanmar. The scope of our activities has broadened, and some members have mentioned that Cross Overhas enabled them to exhibit in international art fairs and participate in art exhibitions in foreign countries.
We hope to make a small contribution to our exhibitors and visitors in the future through our exhibitions and other activities.
We guarantee that our future activities will produce positive results!
