EXHIBITION

Buró57 presents a solo exhibition by its founder, artist Natalia Ludmila. Comprising of portraiture, cartography, and found-object When the Tenth Month Comes explores notions of history focusing on sites with a particularly charged past.

By experiencing first-hand and documenting certain historic sites the artist's intention was to gain an understanding of how we interpret, navigate and relate to these locations. As well as obtaining insight on their embedded histories. For Ludmila, these sites are strongholds of our shared common memory and are permeated with latent history, thus inviting us to experience, read and decoded them.

This body of work was thought of and outlined by the artist during her time as artist-in-residence at A. Farm Residency in Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam in 2019.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Natalia Ludmila is a multidisciplinary artist whose studio-based research points to the political. Questioning forms of representation, and the construction of false or biased narratives in the context of conflict.

Ludmila received a BFA from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and an MA from the University Of Canberra, Australia. Her work has been exhibited in several solo and group shows across the world. She was the Second Prize recipient in the XVIII Ibiza Biennale.

She has been awarded a number of grants for international residencies spending time at Sàn Art/a.farm, Vietnam. Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Canada. Cittadellarte, Italy. INSTINC, Singapore.

Ludmila currently lives and works in Bangkok.

นิทรรศการจัดแสดงตั้งแต่วันที่ ๑๔ กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๓ ถึงวันที่ ๑ มีนาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๓ (หลังเปิดนิทรรศการสามารถนัดเวลาเพื่อเข้ารับชมได้)

หอศิลป์ Buró57 มีความยินดีที่จะจัดแสดงผลงานของศิลปินผู้ก่อตั้งหอศิลป์ คุณนาตาเลีย ลุดมิลา งานแสดงศิลปะครั้งนี้ประกอบไปด้วยรูปภาพคน แผนภาพ และสิ่งเก็บตก ผลงาน “เมื่อตุลาคมหวนมา” เป็นการค้นหาความเข้าใจประวัติศาสตร์โดยให้ความสนใจกับสถานที่ที่มีอดีตอันหนักหน่วงยิ่ง
ด้วยการใช้ประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวและการบันทึกภาพโบราณสถานหลายแห่ง ศิลปินตั้งใจจะทำความเข้าใจวิธีการที่เราวิเคราะห์ความหมาย ประมวลความคิด และเชื่อมโยงความคิดนั้นกับสถานที่เหล่านี้ นอกเหนือไปจากการทำความเข้าใจอย่างลึกซึ้งกับประวัติศาสตร์ที่ผูกพันอยู่กับสถานที่เหล่านั้น สำหรับ นาตาเลีย ลุดมิลา สถานที่เหล่านี้เป็นป้อมปราการของความทรงจำร่วมกันของมนุษยชาติที่ซึมซาบไปด้วยประวัติศาสตร์ที่ซ่อนเร้น อันเป็นสิ่งเชื้อเชิญให้เราแสวงหาประสบการณ์ ดู อ่าน และถอดรหัสออกมา
ผลงานชิ้นนี้ได้รับการตกผลึกและวางเค้าโครงโดยตัวศิลปินระหว่างที่เธอเป็นศิลปินในพำนักที่ A. Farm Residency ณ นครโฮจิมินห์ ประเทศเวียดนาม

เกี่ยวกับตัวศิลปิน
นาตาเลีย ลุดมิลา เป็นศิลปินที่ประยุกต์สหศาสตร์ศิลป์ ผลงานที่รังสรรค์จากการค้นคว้าในสตูดิโอเน้นการแสดงความคิดทางการเมือง โดยมักตั้งคำถามเรื่องภาพที่ปรากฏในสื่อมวลชนที่เป็นประเด็นปัญหาสังคม โดยจะเน้นการชี้ให้เห็นสถานการณ์ที่มีความขัดแย้งในเชิงสังคมและการเมือง เพื่อที่จะตั้งคำถามกับภาพที่ปรากฏนั้น ว่าเกิดจากแนวความคิดที่ผิดจากความเป็นจริงหรือเต็มไปด้วยอคติหรือไม่
นาตาเลีย ลุดมิลา สำเร็จการศึกษาศิลปกรรมศาสตรบัณฑิตจาก Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) และได้รับวุฒิศิลปกรรมศาสตร์มหาบัณฑิตจาก University of Canberra ประเทศออสเตรเลีย ผลงานของเธอได้รับการจัดแสดงไปทั่วโลก ทั้งในรูปแบบศิลปินเดี่ยวและเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของกลุ่มศิลปิน เธอเคยประกวดชนะรางวัลรองชนะเลิศอันดับหนึ่งในงาน XVIII Ibiza Biennale
นาตาเลียเคยได้รับทุนโครงการศิลปินในพำนักในต่างประเทศหลายแห่ง อาทิเช่น Sàn Art/a.farm ประเทศเวียดนาม Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity ประเทศแคนาดา Cittadellarte ประเทศอิตาลี และ INSTINC ประเทศสิงคโปร์
