นิทรรศการศิลปะ "Eternity Village" ผลงานโดย พชร ปิยะทรงสุทธิ์ (Pachara Piyasongsoot) จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 11 กรกฎาคม - 9 สิงหาคม 2563 ณ ARTIST+RUN

Eternity Village: Pachara Piyasongsoot

"... รอยจินตนาการแห่งหมู่บ้านนิจนิรันดร์เป็นการผสมผสานกันระหว่างอารมณ์โหยหายากการพลัดที่นาคาที่อยู่กับความเป็นปัจจุบันในดินแดนไร้คน ซึ่งอยู่ริมตีนชายขอบของหมู่บ้านจัดสรร พื้นที่เล็กๆที่แบ่งซอยแยกย่อยอยู่รวมกันอย่างนิจนิรันดร์ มีวิถีปฏิบัติเหมือนกับมือทำความสะอาด มีเวลาอยู่บนจักรกลของแรงงาน มีแดนสนธยาให้ใฝ่ฝันถึงคืนวันอันรื่นรมย์ แม้จะไม่ใช่ความเป็นจริงก็ตาม

พชร ได้กล่าวถึงหมู่บ้านนิจนิรันดร์ตอนหนึ่งว่า “ที่พักของคนงานที่เรียกว่า “แคมป์” มีพื้นที่ขนาด 23 ตารางวา (ผมขอเรียกว่าหมู่บ้าน 23 ตารางวา) เป็นที่พักอาศัยถาวร พื้นที่นี้จะประกอบไปด้วยสมาชิก 6 ครอบครัว หลายคนในที่นี้ใช้ชีวิตในที่พักอาศัยนี้อย่างยาวนานกว่า 20 ปี (ตั้งแต่หมู่บ้านจัดสรรเริ่มก่อตั้งไม่นาน) โดยส่วนใหญ่จะมาจากการแนะนำกันเป็นทอดๆในจังหวัดบ้านเกิด บางครั้งเป็นญาติหรือลูกรุ่นต่อๆไปของพวกเขาเอง พื้นที่แห่งนี้หลบซ่อนอยู่ในหลังกำแพง (Knock Board) ของสนามเทสนิสภายในหมู่บ้านจัดสรรที่เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของสโมสรหมู่บ้าน ที่ฝ่ายนิติบุคคลปิดตัวลงไปเมื่อหลายปีก่อน เนื่องด้วยจากปัญหาที่ลูกบ้านส่วนใหญ่ไม่ยอมจ่ายค่าส่วนกลางของหมู่บ้าน จึงส่งผลทำให้พวกเขาได้เพียงแค่ค่าแรงขั้นต่ำต่อวัน และไม่มีสวัสดิการอะไรที่รองรับอย่างที่ควรจะเป็น นั่นคือจุดเริ่มต้นที่ผมได้ตัดสินใจเริ่มสร้างผลงานชุดนี้เมื่อเดือนมกราคม 2563” (อ่านรายละเอียดได้จาก หมู่บ้านนิจนิรันดร์ : พชร ปิยะทรงสุทธิ์)

จากมกราคม 2562 ถึง มกราคม 2563 และจนถึงกลางปีนี้ เชื่อว่าชุมขนคนหมู่บ้านนิจนิรันดร์คงได้รับผลกระทบจากโรคห่าตำปอดไม่มากก็น้อย แต่สิ่งที่เป็นนิจนิรันดร์ความฝันและจินตนาการของความเป็นหมู่บ้านที่พลัดพรากจากมา หลายคนในครอบครัวนั้นคงได้กลับไปดินแดนที่เคยอยู่ อู่ที่เคยเนาว์ อีกหลายครอบครัวอาจต้องเผชิญชีวิตที่ยากลำบากมากกว่าเดิม เพราะไม่ว่าตัวเองดำรงอยู่ในสถานะไหน ภาพสถิตย์ที่พชรได้สลักไว้กลายเป็นตำนานยิ่งกว่าความฝันของคนในหมู่บ้านนิจนิรันดร์ เสมือนหนึ่งคำประกาศของการแสวงหาและเฝ้ารอสิ่งมหัศจรรย์จากฟากฟ้า เพียงแต่โชคร้ายที่พระเจ้าตาบอดกลับส่งโรคห่าตำปอดเป็นสิ่งประทานแทนทรัพย์สิน สฤงคาร”

“... The imaginative traces of the Eternity Village are a combination between yearning for the homeland left behind and the present time in the no man’s land, which is situated at the edge of a housing estate. Small divided areas which are eternally grouped together have practices which are similar to cleaning hands, with time on the machines of laborers and a twilight zone where they can dream of pleasant days and nights, which aren’t reality.

In one part, Pachara mentioned the Eternity Village: “The housing of these workers, which was called “camp” spanned 23 square wa (I’ll call it “23-square-wa village”), and it was their permanent residence. It consisted of people from six families, and many of them had lived there for over 20 years (shortly after the establishment of the housing estate). Most of them came here through referrals from people living in their hometown, or their relatives or children. This place was hiding behind the knock board of a tennis court, which was part of the Club of this housing estate with the Juristic Person Department closed down several years before as most residents didn’t pay the common fee. This resulted in these workers receiving only a minimum wage per day but no other fringe benefits which they deserved. This was the starting point of my decision to start creating the series of works in January 2019”

From January 2019 to January 2020 and until the middle of this year, I believe that the community of residents in the Eternity Village would be more or less affected by the lung plague, but the eternal things are the workers’ dream and imagination about the village which they have left. Probably, many family members have returned to the land where they dwelled, and many families are encountering a more difficult life. No matter what status they have, the static image carved by Phachara
is more legendary than the dream of residents of the Eternity Village as if it was a declaration of seeking and waiting for a miracle from the sky, but unfortunately, the Blind God sent them a lung plague instead of wealth.”
