นิทรรศการ "The Antipodeans - Four Australians" ผลงานโดยศิลปินชาวออสเตรเลีย ประกอบด้วย Peter Stephenson, David Rellim, Troy Thompson และ Charlie Brophy จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 15 สิงหาคม - 15 กันยายน 2561 และจะมีพิธีเปิดในวันพุธที่ 15 สิงหาคม 2561 เวลา 18.00 น. ณ Artery Gallery Bangkok

Artery Gallery Bangkok นำผลงานของศิลปินชาวออสเตรเลีย 4 ท่านมาจัดแสดงนิทรรศการที่มีชื่อว่า “THE ANTIPODEANS - FOUR AUSTRALIANS” ระหว่างวันที่ 15 สิงหาคม – 15 กันยายน 2561 ณ Artery Gallery Bangkok ถนนสีลม ซอย 21 กรุงเทพฯ

นิทรรศการ “THE ANTIPODEANS - FOUR AUSTRALIANS” จัดแสดงผลงานกลุ่มของศิลปินต่างวัย 4 ท่าน ซึ่งล้วนมาจากประเทศออสเตรเลีย Peter Stephenson เป็นนักวาดภาพมืออาชีพอาวุโสที่ได้รับการยกย่องอย่างมากตั้งแต่กลางยุค 70 David Rellim จิตรกรจากเมืองเมลเบิร์นที่ได้สร้างชื่อเสียงในท้องถิ่นไว้แล้ว Troy Thompson เป็นที่รู้จักกันดีในฐานะกราฟฟิตี้ของเมลเบิร์นและ"ศิลปินริมถนน" และ Charlie Brophy ช่างภาพรุ่นใหม่ชาวเมลเบิร์นซึ่งประสบความสำเร็จในการแสดงผลงานของเขาหลังจากสำเร็จการศึกษาที่มหาวิทยาลัย RMIT ในปี 2012 ผลงานทั้งหมดนำมาจัดแสดงในครั้งนี้ได้รับการคัดสรรโดย Peter Gant คิวเรเตอร์ของนิทรรศการ

นิทรรศการครั้งนี้จะเผยให้เห็นถึงความหลากหลายของศิลปะสัญชาติออสเตรเลีย เป็นสังคมศิลปะที่มีความเป็นส่วนรวมและได้ให้ความสำคัญกับความหลากหลายในทุกรูปลักษณ์ ศิลปินทั้งสี่คนนี้มีความแตกต่างกันทั้งในด้านภูมิหลัง แต่จุดมุ่งหมายร่วมกันของพวกเขาคือการถ่ายทอดมุมมองในสังคมผ่านเส้นทางศิลปะของ 4 ศิลปินที่มาบรรจบกันให้ผู้ชมได้ประจักษ์แก่สายตา

THE ANTIPODEANS - FOUR AUSTRALIANS

This exhibition presents the work of four, very different, practicing artists, from Australia.

Peter Stephenson is a highly regarded, professional, senior painter who has been exhibiting since the mid 70's. David Rellim is a younger (crazy/inspired) self taught Melbourne painter who has already built an impressive local reputation. Troy Thompson, best known as a Melbourne graffiti and "street artist" is in the early throes of his professional arts career. And Charlie Brophy, the youngest of the group, is a Melbourne based photographer who has been successfully showing her work since completing her BA Photography at RMIT in 2012.

The arts scene in Australia is diverse. It is hoped that this exhibition will give a glimpse of this. There is no one prevailing style of artistic expression that is necessarily favoured over another. Australia is an inclusive society and it has always championed diversity in all its manifestations. These four artists, although very different in their backgrounds and means of expression, share a passion and integrity of purpose.The common factor that unites them is their absolute need to express themselves visually.
