นิทรรศการ "Objectivland"

นิทรรศการ "Objectivland" ผลงานโดย พิชากร ชูเขียว (Pichakorn Chukiew) จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 19 เมษายน -31 พฤษภาคม 2561 และจะมีพิธีเปิดในวันที่ 19 เมษายน 2561 เวลา 18.00 น. ณ CASE Space Revolution

Introduction:
ความเคยชินบนกิจกรรมที่ทำๆกัน ด้วยสิ่งของที่ใช้ๆในชีวิตประจำวัน ซึ่งเราต่างก็เผลอนิยามสิ่งของเครื่องใช้เหล่านั้นไปตามประสบการณ์ที่เราเคยได้รับ ตามการสร้างสรรค์ของผู้คิดค้น หรือแม้แต่การกำหนดคุณค่าในผลิตภัณฑ์ต่างๆ จากเหล่านายทุนทั้งหลาย อย่างที่เราไม่อาจปฏิเสธมันได้

นิทรรศการ “OBJECTIVLAND” เป็นการทำลายกรอบความคิดและประสบการณ์ ด้วยการนำข้าวของเครื่องใช้ที่ใช้กันในชีวิตประจำวัน รวมถึงวัตถุที่หมดสภาพการใช้สอย มาฉีกรื้อชิ้นส่วน ชำแหละ และประกอบขึ้นเป็น วัตถุที่มีหน้าที่ใช้สอยใหม่และแตกต่างไปจากเดิม ทำให้คุณค่าและนิยามของสิ่งของเหล่านั้น ถูกแปรสภาพและสร้างมูลค่าให้กับมันอีกครั้ง เสมือนหนึ่งการชุบชีวิตจนเกิดเป็น 'สิ่งแปลกปลอม' เหล่านี้

Tua Pen Not ศิลปินไทยจากจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ผู้เห็นคุณค่าของวัสดุเหลือใช้และสิ่งของในชีวิตประจำวัน ด้วยการทะลายขีดจำกัดและกรอบนิยามในวัตถุเหล่านั้น ผ่านความไร้เดียงสาของสายตาและการกระทำอย่างประนีประนอม กระบวนการชำแหละวัสดุแต่ละชิ้นสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงสภาวะหรือคุณค่าของสิ่งที่มีอยู่อย่างแท้จริงบนโลกใบนี้ (existence) ที่ดำเนินอยู่บนปรากฏการณ์แห่งสัจธรรม นั่นคือ ‘การมีอยู่อย่างชั่วคราว’ ซึ่งไม่ต่างอะไรกับที่วง The Book ร้องท่อนสุดท้ายของเพลง Smells Like Content ในตอนจบที่ว่า

"Expectation leads to disappointment.
If you don’t expect something big and exciting...
Usually um...
I dunno, it's just not as, yea..."

“ผมได้พบเห็นเรื่องราวมากมายตลอดการดำเนินชีวิตของผม ปัญหาในแต่ละวัน รวมถึงเหตุการณ์ที่ไม่คาดคิด ทำให้สิ่งที่ตั้งใจหรืออยากให้เป็นอาจไม่เป็นแบบที่คิดไว้ ผมมักมีแพลนในการใช้ชีวิต แต่เราก็สามารถกำหนดได้แค่ส่วนหนึ่ง เป็นเพราะความคลาดเคลื่อนทำให้ไม่ตรงไปตามแผนบ้าง ชีวิตมันเลยต้องเผชิญกับสิ่งที่อยู่ตรงหน้า ดิ้นไปในทางที่ควรจะเป็น หรือทางที่น่าจะเป็นไปได้ และต้องทำให้เป็นไปได้โดยที่ไม่มีอะไรเป็นไปไม่ได้อีกแล้ว ผมจึงเรียกสิ่งเหล่านี้ว่า ‘สิ่งแปลกปลอม’ เป็นสิ่งที่ทำให้เรามีหนทางในการใช้ชีวิตแตกต่างไปจากรูปแบบเดิม

วัสดุนั้นมีความคล้ายคลึงกับชีวิตคนเรา เพราะทุกสิ่งทุกอย่างล้วนแล้วแต่มีหน้าที่ของตัวเอง หน้าที่ที่บ่งชี้ว่าสิ่งนั้นควรเป็นอะไร? เอาใช้ประโยชน์ด้านไหน? และทำไปเพื่ออะไร? วัสดุเหล่านี้มีความเป็นไปได้ และไม่ได้มีประโยชน์แค่เพียงด้านเดียว ทุกสิ่งสามารถพลิกแพลงไปเป็นอย่างอื่นได้หมด รวมไปถึงคุณค่าของวัสดุก็ไม่สามารถตีความหมายออกมาได้อย่างตายตัว หากหน้าที่ของมันถูกนำไปใช้ตามสถานการณ์และความจำเป็น ทำให้ข้อกำหนดในแบบที่เคยเป็นมา อาจถูกเปลี่ยนแปลงหรือแทนที่ ก็เป็นได้

สำหรับผมแล้ว ความเป็นไปได้นั้นมีหลายด้าน ดังนั้นชีวิตกับวัสดุจึงมีความคล้ายคลึงกัน นั่นคือ สิ่งแปลกปลอมที่สามารถเป็นไปได้ในทุกทาง ทำให้นิยามของสิ่งแปลกปลอมในมุมมองของผม เป็นสิ่งที่ทำให้วัสดุเหล่านี้ถูกพัฒนาต่อไป และดำรงอยู่ในรูปแบบที่อิสระ รูปแบบที่ไร้แบบแผน เพราะทุกอย่างเป็นไปได้ ไม่ได้ถูกมองแค่มุมเดียว และต่างล้วนเป็นสิ่งที่้ทำให้โลกหมุนไปตามครรลองสามัญที่ผมเผชิญอยู่ในทุกๆวัน”

Introduction:
Everyday objects and daily activities are usually defined by the creators or inventors. as well as the undeniable force to believe in the value of products by a capitalist society.

“OBJECTIVLAND” is an art exhibition which narrates an idea to break down an overarching paradigm of human thoughts and experiences by giving an impression of fragmentation through the everyday objects, which turns into a form of semiotic analysis of foreign matter. A transformation offers new functions and forms, and offers likewise a reincarnation of all those defunct objects.

Tua Pen Not, Thai artist based in Chiang Mai, who blurs a limitation of physical ability and compromisingly re-values an abundant everyday objects through the eyes of innocence and action. The process of dismembering reflects a real state of existence which is called ‘an impermanence’. It would rather be much of a muchness to the end part of the song ‘Smells Like Content’ when The Book sang…

Artist's Note:
“There are a plethora problems during my daily life, including an unexpected situation which can effect my daily plans. My livelihood is often interrupted by deviations. I then In turn adapt to face those problems trying to find the corresponding solutions. The ‘Unknown’ is what I call all these things, which always bring our livelihood to deviate from its expected outcomes.

According to duty or function, a material is similar to human life through its own definition to define what it is and what it is for? These materials are possibly adaptive to other benefits, including flexibility to its own value. Transformation or replacement could be applied for circumstance and necessity.

A possibility for me, has various dimensions. I still confirm from above that a material is similar to human life. The ‘Unknown’ is then applicable by its definition which develops all these materials into a liberated matter and randomness.”
