นิทรรศการ "สองคนยลตามช่อง คนหนึ่งมองเห็นโคลนตม อีกคนตาแหลมคม เห็นดวงดาวอยู่พราวพราย :Two men look out through the same bars: ​one sees the mud, and one the star" ผลงานโดย ดุษฎี ฮันตระกูล (Dusadee Huntrakul), ลัทธพล ก่อเกียรติตระกูล (Latthapon Korkiatarkul), มิติ เรืองกฤตยา (Miti Ruangkritya), ณัฐพล สวัสดี (Nuttapon Sawasdee), พรภพ สิทธิรักษ์ (Phornphop Sittirak) และ วิริยะ โชติปัญญาวิสุทธิ์ (Viriya Chotpanyavisut) จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 19 พฤษภาคม - 18 มิถุนายน 2559 ณ หอศิลป์มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร : Art Centre Silpakorn University

การแสดงออกทางศิลปะที่มีที่มาที่ไปมาจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพสังคมเริ่มปรากฏให้เห็นชัดขึ้นในช่วง 10 ปีที่ผ่านมา ศิลปะเริ่มพูดเรื่องรอบตัวในสังคม ปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้น รวมถึงใช้เป็นสื่อในการพูดถึงสิ่งที่พูดไม่ได้ ผู้ชมกลายเป็นสื่อหนึ่งในผลงานที่ทำให้เกิดบทสนทนา ข้อโต้เถียงกับสิ่งต่างๆรอบตัว ผู้ชมคือตัวผันแปรที่สำคัญที่จะให้งานศิลปะชิ้นนั้นๆไปต่อสู่เป้าหมายที่แท้จริง เจตจำนงของศิลปะจะสำแดงผลออกมาได้ก็ต่อเมื่องานศิลปะนั้นๆมอบเสรีภาพต่อผู้ชม นิทรรศการนี้ จึงเป็นเสมือนการมองหาช่องทางของเสรีภาพในการแสดงออกทางศิลปะและการคิดอ่านของผู้ชม ผ่าน “ช่อง” ทางให้เราเข้าไปสู่ความหมายเนื้อแท้จริงของสิ่งต่างๆรอบตัวอย่างเสรีโดยที่มิได้เข้าไปทำลายความเชื่อหรือสิทธิที่จะเชื่อของใครๆ

ชื่อนิทรรศการ สองคนยลตามช่อง คนหนึ่งมองเห็นโคลนตม อีกคนตาแหลมคม เห็นดวงดาวอยู่พราวพราย คือการสื่อสารกับสังคมว่า ในทุกๆคน ทุกๆอาชีพ ทุกๆหน้าที่ ควรมีสิทธิที่จะเลือกมองไม่ว่าจะมองในมุมใดๆ จะเห็นดวงดาวพร่างพรายหรือจะเห็นเพียงโคลนตมก็ตาม สิ่งที่น่ายินดีคือการที่ยังมี “ช่อง” ให้เรามอง หากเราอยู่ในสังคมที่ปราศจาก “ช่อง” ให้มองแล้วเราก็จะไม่เห็นอะไรเลยนอกเสียจากตัวเองกับกรอบความคิดที่แบนราบ

นิทรรศการในครั้งนี้คือการทดลองความเป็นไปได้ในการแสดงออกทางศิลปะและการรับชมของผู้ชมว่ามีส่วนร่วมในการตัดสินใจตีความในความคิดอ่านทางศิลปะที่มีประเด็นให้จับต้องมากมาย งานศิลปะที่เกิดขึ้นครั้งนี้มีความเกี่ยวโยงกับการนำประเด็นต่างๆทางสังคมมาสนทนากับผู้ชมอย่างเสรี โดยไม่สรุปให้ผู้ชมเดินตามความคิดนั้นๆ ศิลปะที่เกิดขึ้นไม่ได้ต้องการจะเสนออะไรเป็นพิเศษ แต่กำลังจะเป็นอะไรในที่นี้เสียมากกว่า เพราะในทุกๆสังคมที่บอกตัวเองว่า (จะ) เป็นประชาธิปไตยนั้น การแสดงออกทางศิลปะก็ควรจะเป็นประชาธิปไตยด้วยเช่นกัน

นิทรรศการนี้เป็นเสมือนนิทรรศการเปิดตัว โครงการสนับสนุนศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ exposed : up-and-coming artists project ซึ่งเป็นโครงการระยะยาวที่หอศิลป์ได้สรรหาและคัดเลือกศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ที่มีแนวความคิดและแนวทางการแสดงออกที่น่าสนใจ มีความคิดริเริ่มที่แปลกใหม่ที่แตกต่างไปจากขนบธรรมเนียมเดิมของประวัติศาสตร์ศิลปะร่วมสมัยไทย จำนวน 6 คน มาทำงานร่วมกับหอศิลป์ผ่านการจัดนิทรรศการจำนวน 6 นิทรรศการภายในระยะเวลา 1 ปีจากนี้

​Artistic expressions reflected from the society began to emerge and has been noticeable in the past 10 years. Art began to say about things around us, social problems, as well as have been used to say about topics that cannot be said in other ways. The audiences became part of the works creating contradictory dialogues against things. Audiences are a variable that make a work of art continue its way to the real goal. Consequently, art can express its intention when that work of art gives freedom to the audiences. The audiences must have an exit to go out and ponder. They must have freedom to see either a way or another. This exhibition is like a search of a way of freedom in artistic expression and pondering of the audiences through a “gap” that leads us to the real meanings of things freely without destroying beliefs or rights to believe of others.

The title, Two men look out through the same bars: one sees the mud, and one the stars, aims to communicate with the society that every person, in every occupation, and every duty should have a right to choose to see, no matter from what vision he/she would see, no matter if they would see the shining stars or merely the mud, what is pleasant is how there is still a “bar” for us to see through. If we lived in a society without a “bar,” we would not see anything except ourselves and a flat concept. No matter if one sees the stars or the mud, they are both places, in different positions and different times.

This exhibition is an experiment on a possibility of artistic expression and perceptions of the audiences, that how they are involved in deciding and interpreting art which has many points to see. The works happening this time are connected with bringing up various social issues to talk with the audiences freely without making the audiences follow any specific idea. These art works do not want to convey anything specifically, but rather to convey what would become here unspecifically. In every society telling itself that it is (becoming) democratic, the art expressions should also be democratic as well.

This exhibition is a part of exposed : up-and-coming artists project, a project supporting new generation artists whose works reflect unconventional artistic concepts and expression. Six young and emerging artists are selected to work with the Art Centre for six individual exhibitions over a one-year period.
