นิทรรศการภาพถ่าย "SPIRIT OF SANAMLUANG" ผลงานโดย เชิดวุฒิ สกลยา (Cherdwood Sakolaya) จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 2 ตุลาคม - 15 พฤศจิกายน 2558 และจะมีพิธีเปิดในวันที่ 2 ตุลาคม 2558 เวลา 19.00 น. ณ Soy Sauce Factory

”สนามหลวง" ชื่อนี้ไม่มีคนไทยคนไหนไม่รู้จัก โดยเฉพาะคนไทยที่อายุ 20 ปีขึ้นไป จะรู้จักมักคุ้นกับบรรยากาศเดิมๆ ของสนามหลวงเป็นอย่างดี แต่สำหรับคนรุ่นใหม่ ยิ่งรุ่นหลังๆ ด้วยแล้ว หลายคนอาจไม่เคยคุ้นกับบรรยากาศเก่าๆ หรืออารมณ์แท้ๆ ของสนามหลวง ซึ่งปัจจุบันเราไม่สามารถกลับไปสัมผัสวิถีชีวิตเหล่านั้นได้อีกแล้ว เนื่องจากมีการล้อมรั้วปิดกั้นพื้นที่ เพื่อจัดสรรความเป็นระเบียบเรียบร้อย วิถี ชีวิตที่มีมาช้านานในพื้นที่สนามหลวงตรงนี้ ได้กลายเป็นมนต์ขลัง หรือเสน่ห์ดึงดูดให้ผมหลงใหล ขณะเดียวกันก็รู้สึกสะเทือนใจไปพร้อมๆ กัน กระทั่งอดไม่ได้ที่จะบันทึกภาพความทรงจำของชีวิตเหล่านั้นเก็บไว้ คล้ายกับผมมีลางสังหรณ์ลึกๆ ในใจว่า ต่อไปจะไม่มีวิถีชีวิตแบบนี้ในพื้นที่สนามหลวงให้ได้เห็นกันอีก

ย้อน กลับไปเมื่อ 20 ปีก่อน ภาพทุกภาพถูกบันทึกไว้อย่างเป็นธรรมชาติที่สุดด้วยฟิล์มขาว-ดำ เป็นภาพที่ผมบันทึกด้วยสภาวะจิตที่ละเอียดกับปัจจุบันขณะ แทบไม่ผ่านกระบวนการความคิดใดๆ ให้ (เผลอ) ปรุงแต่งในขณะบันทึก ภาพที่ได้จึงปราศจากกำแพงขวางกั้นระหว่างมนุษย์กับมนุษย์...

วิถี ชีวิตและเรื่องราวที่ข้าพเจ้าได้บันทึกไว้นี้ อาจกลายเป็นสิ่งมีค่าสำหรับการบันทึกภาพแห่งยุคสมัย หรืออาจเป็นเพียงแค่เถ้าธุลีแห่งอดีต ที่กำลังถูกแรงลมของกระแสโลกาภิวัตน์ "พัด" ให้เลือนหายตายจากความทรงจำของผู้คน

...แล้วใครเล่าจะจำได้ว่า สนามหลวงในอดีตนั้น มีจิตวิญญาณเช่นไร...

"SPIRIT OF SANAMLUANG"
For me, Sanamluang is the gateway to our past. Running through the grounds are memories and reminders of who we once were and how we once lived. Its charm and ambience inspires me. It brings me both clarity and harmony when I need it most. And that is why I have been coming back here and recording it for the past twenty years

My wish is to capture the simple things which echo a different era. And, yes, even though the past is the past, it does not diminish in value; if anything, it only appreciates. Today, we are all too easily distracted by the bright lights and easy highs. So when I say we should take a look back to our past, I’m not saying that we should turn back the clock and live how we once lived; but rather it would help us understand better who we are today and, also, perhaps, who we want to become in the future.

Life is full curiosities, both big and small. Every day I’m excited by the litany of never ending questions I see around me. To see work inspired by the heart is the ultimate for me. My work is not a magic trick. I’m not here to show you one hand, while keeping the other behind my back. My aim is to give you both hands, in all their wretched glory.
