นิทรรศการ “Truth”

นิทรรศการ “Truth” ผลงานโดย กิตติศักดิ์ เทพเกาะ (Kittisak Thapkoa) จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 17 กันยายน - 11 ตุลาคม 2558 และจะมีพิธีเปิดในวันที่ 17 กันยายน 2558 เวลา 18.00 น. ณ Number1Gallery : นัมเบอร์วันแกลเลอรี่

Truth (ความจริง) ถือเป็นการเปิดตัวในนิทรรศการเดี่ยวของเขางานชุดนี้ศิลปินได้วาดภาพที่มีรายละเอียดด้วยการใช้สีฝุ่น ผงถ่านลงบนผ้าใบ นำเสนอสื่อเชิงสัญลักษณ์ความชั่วร้ายบาปต่างๆจากความคิดเห็นมุมมองทศันคติที่ทุกคนต่างก็ไม่สามารถหลีกหนีความชั่วร้ายอันเป็นคล้ายวัฏจักรนั้นได้กิตติศักดิ์ถ่ายทอดภาพงานศิลป์ค่อนไปทางน่าเกรงขามซึ่งอาจจะทุเลายับยั้งวงจรซาตานได้บางหรือไม่นั้น

ตัวละครที่กิตติศักดิ์ใช้นำเสนอรูปทรงดูคล้ายเหมือนสัตว์แต่ไม่มีตัวตนอยู่จริงดูหักบิดเบี้ยวผิดธรรมชาติของความปกติอันพึ่งมีของสัตว์ต่างๆกะโหลกตัวแทนความชั่วร้าย กรงเล็บที่แหลมคม เสมือนอาวุธที่ส่งเสริมความน่ากลัวถึงจะดูค่อนไปทางรุนแรงก็ยังคงความรู้สึกได้ถึงสิ่งที่ครอบงำให้อยู่ในครรลองทางที่ควรจะเป็นด้วยการใช้โทนสีขาว-ดำ

กิตติศักดิ์ศิลปินวัย 26 ปี ชาวนครราชสีมาตระหนักถึงการมีจิตสำนึกทางศีลธรรมได้นำความงามจากภาพจิตรกรรมฝาผนังที่ได้ประสบพบเห็นและประทับใจในคำสอนของชาวพุทธให้ความสำคัญในสถาปัตยกรรมเก่าแก่แต่ครั้งโบราณตามคติความเชื่อทางศาสนาพุทธเฉกเช่นเดียวกับคริสเตียนที่แสดงถึงจริยธรรมอันพึงมี

กิตติศักดิ์ เทพเกาะ (เกิด พ.ศ. 2532) จบปริญญาตรีจากคณะศิลปกรรม มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร เขาได้ร่วมแสดงนิทรรศการกลุ่มทั้งในประเทศไทยและต่างชาติ(สหรัฐอเมริกา)และได้รับรางวัลจากศิลปกรรม โตชิบา "นำสิ่งที่ดีสู่ชีวิต” ในปี พ.ศ. 2548, 2550, 2554, รางวัลที่2 ศิลปกรรมแห่งชาติโดยธนาคารกรุงไทยและรางวัลยอดเยี่ยม ดาวเด่นบัวหลวง ในปี พ.ศ.2555

“ Truth”
For his debut solo exhibition, emerging artist Kittisak Thapkoa’s series of delicate yet disturbing graphic drawings on canvas are a prophetic personal allegory to human sin, with the moral and spiritual fallout of such conduct. Using pencil, charcoal and coloured powder, he imaginatively manifests a society incapable of escaping past evils with a sermonizing hope that his horrific imagery will help break the destructive cycle.

In Kittisak’s torturous judgmental renderings, twisted and broken limbs entangle and enflame with demonic bestial skulls and claws. Dramatic spikes rise to impale the damned in his woeful Inferno-like scenes that forebode on earthly waywardness. Through refined draftsmanship, the 26-year-old native of Nakon Ratchasima province exudes a conscience and moral countenance beyond his years.

Evoking symbolic underworld murals and carvings featured in the architecture of Buddhist temples, as well as depictions of hell and damnation that run through the canon of Christian art, Kittisak’s intricately drawn hellish visions display similar ethical characteristics.

Kittisak Thapkoa (b. 1989) holds a BA in Fine Art from Silpakorn University. He has participated in group exhibitions in Thailand and the U.S.A. and has been received several awards in domestic art competitions, including Toshiba’s “Bring Good Life” (2005, 2007, 2011), Krung Thai Bank National Art Award (2012), Bua Luang Painting (2012), UOB Art Award (2013), Amata Art Award (2013), and the Young Thai Artists Award (2012, 2014).
