At DREAMGRAFF Gallery . Opening time | Tuesday to Sunday 12PM - 7PM“ Nafir grew up in Tahran, Iran, a city rich in culture, religion, and politics. In 2008, he initiated his journey into street art by writing tags on the walls of his hometown. Viewing drawing as a means of political participation and expression, he identifies himself as a ‘vandal artist.’ Nafir draws inspiration from Iran’s local culture and art in his street creations, particularly showcasing the beauty of the country through Persian carpets. These carpets serve as representatives, inviting contemplation on various aspects of the country’s life, politics, and the Persian people.
Despite the inherent beauty, street art faces challenges in Iran, being both unpopular and illegal. To navigate this, Nafael employs the stencil technique, meticulously cutting blocks in his studio, spraying them onto carpets, and then installing them on city walls.
Nafir work has reached global recognition, collaborating with prominent galleries and magazines worldwide, spanning Afghanistan, Italy, Germany,Netherlands, and India
“ Nafir เติบโตขึ้นมาใน เมือง เทลาน ประเทศอิหร่าน เมืองที่อุดมไปด้วยวัฒนธรรม ศาสนา และการเมือง ต่อมาในปี 2008 เขาเริ่มต้นการเดินทางสู่สตรีทอาร์ตโดยการเขียนชื่อของเขา ( Tag ) บนผนังรอบเมือง เขามองว่าการวาดภาพเป็นวิธีการมีส่วนร่วมและการแสดงออกทางการเมือง นั่นทำให้เขาเรียกตัวเองว่าเป็น ‘ศิลปินป่าเถื่อน’ ( Vandal Artist )
Nafir ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากวัฒนธรรมและศิลปะท้องถิ่นของอิหร่านในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานบนท้องถนนของเขา โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการนำเสนอความงามของประเทศผ่านพรมเปอร์เซีย ซึ่งพรมเหล่านี้ทำหน้าที่เป็นตัวแทนให้นึกไปถึงวิถีชีวิต ความเป็นอยู่ การเมือง การปกครอง ของประเทศอิหร่าน และชาวเปอร์เซีย แต่การทำงานศิลปะบนท้องถนน ( Streetart )ในอิหร่านยังต้องเผชิญกับความท้าทายเป็นอย่างมากเพราะยังไม่เป็นที่นิยมและยังผิดกดหมายอีกด้วย ด้วยเหตุนี้ Stencil จึงเป็นเทคนิคที่เค้าเลือกมาใช้ในการทำงาน
