นิทรรศการ "SIMPLICITY (ซิมพลิส’ซิที)" ผลงานโดย พิเชษฐ ยังพบ (Pichate Youngpob) จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 3 กุมภาพันธ์ - 3 มีนาคม 2567 และจะมีพิธีเปิดในวันเสาร์ที่ 3 กุมภาพันธ์ 2567 เวลา 19.00 น. ณ คิวบิสม์ อาร์ต สเปซ : Qubism Art Space นครปฐม

เมื่อสายตาของศิลปินมองเห็นความธรรมดาเป็นสิ่งที่น่าอัศจรรย์ ความสนใจต่อความเป็นจริงอันเรียบง่ายในความธรรมดาสามัญของสิ่งที่พบเจอ เขามองเห็นความไม่ธรรมดาซ่อนอยู่ ทั้งภาพวัตถุ, ภาพสิ่งมีชีวิต, ภาพทิวทัศน์ หรือแม้กระทั่งภาพจำจากคำพูดของผู้คน ล้วนเป็นวัตถุดิบสำคัญในการบอกเล่าประสบการณ์ร่วมกันระหว่างศิลปินกับสังคมแวดล้อม

พิเชษฐ ยังพบ เป็นจิตรกรและศิลปินสื่อผสม เกิดและเติบโตในชานเมืองกรุงเทพฯ เขาเฝ้าสังเกตและบันทึกประสบการณ์ในแต่ละวัน ด้วยความตั้งใจและไม่ตั้งใจ ผ่านผลงานจิตรกรรมกึ่งนามธรรมไปจนถึงนามธรรม นอกจากสื่อทางศิลปะทั่วไป เขาเลือกใช้วัสดุเก็บตกในสตูดิโออย่างผ้ากระสอบ ผ้าเช็ดสี ไม้อัด ฯลฯ เสมือนเป็นการทดลองเพื่อหาความเป็นไปได้ใหม่ๆ มาผนวกกับการใช้สีสัน พื้นผิว และจังหวะลีลาของฝีแปรงที่ฉับพลันแบบเฉพาะตัว จนเกิดรูปร่าง รูปทรง ที่ถูกลดทอนโดยปราศจากโครงสร้างทางความเป็นจริงมากำหนด ซึ่งแสดงถึงความเป็นอิสระ ไม่ยึดติด ไม่เน้นความแม่นยำ แต่มุ่งเน้นไปที่การโต้ตอบแบบเรียบง่าย ไม่ซับซ้อน ตรงไปตรงมาอย่างจริงใจต่อความไม่สมบูรณ์แบบอันสมบูรณ์พร้อม

SIMPLICITY จึงเป็นการลงไปสำรวจความคิดและกายภาพทางความเป็นจริงของสังคมแวดล้อม ( = city) เพื่อค้นหาความเรียบง่าย ( = simple) ในการดำรงอยู่ของมนุษย์ และตัวเขาเอง เขามองดูทุกอย่างเป็นศิลปะ ศิลปะจึงอยู่รอบตัว ทุกสิ่งที่เขาพบเจอทั้งโดยบังเอิญและโดยเจตนา ล้วนมีคุณค่าและความหมายในแบบฉบับของเขา ผลงานทั้งพื้นที่จัดแสดงแห่งนี้ จึงเป็นการเชิญชวนให้ผู้คนมาสัมผัสและใช้ประสบการณ์ร่วมกัน

In his eyes, the condition or quality of being normal is intrinsically astonishing. He’s interested in the reality of commonplaces, in something that falls within the scope of ordinary. The afterimage of objects, lives, landscapes, or even haunting visualised words of people carries the essential material to convey the unforgettable incident between the artist and the surroundings.

Pichate Youngpob, painter and mixed-media artist, was born and raised in suburban Bangkok. He has observed and documented his everyday life with and without consciousness through semi-abstract to abstract impressionism works. Apart from familiar art mediums, he utilises minor stuff in his studio, such as burlap sacks, cloths, plywood, etc., as an experiment, combined with his approach to colour, texture, layer, rhythm, movement, and his distinct brushstroke, until the reductive shape and subtractive form appear in the absence of their actual structure. The paintings manifest the state of being independent and neutral. He refused to go on an excessive and exaggerated degree of precision by emphasising a simplified and uncomplicated narrative, genuinely and straightforwardly communicating the perfect imperfection.

‘SIMPLICITY’ is a trip down to explore the mind and physique of the social environment, i.e. “city”, to seek the “simple” -ness of our existence. Art embraces him because he gazes through everything with a sense of aesthetics. All the small things he had met, whether by intention or coincidence, have been appreciated and interpreted in his way. So, the exhibition that is currently on view will be a warm invitation that allows the audience to intellectually join and experience a worthy deal of simply sophisticated oeuvres.
