Soichiro Shimizu เกิดที่โตเกียวในปี 1966 ศึกษาที่ School of Visual Arts ซึ่งเขาอาศัยและทำงานในนิวยอร์กก่อนจะย้ายไปกรุงเทพฯ งานศิลปะของเขาชวนสำรวจถึงความเป็นคู่ของพลังความงามที่ตรงกันข้ามกัน โดยคำนึงถึงการดำรงอยู่และความเสื่อมโทรมของมนุษย์และธรรมชาติ
Soichiro Shimizu สร้างชั้นสีต่างๆ ขึ้นมาด้วยจังหวะทางกายภาพของการเคลื่อนไหวที่ขยายออก โดยเน้นย้ำถึงสภาพที่จะส่งผลต่อธรรมชาติของวัสดุในปัจจุบัน แต่ในขณะเดียวกันก็ทำลายชั้นต่างๆ ที่สร้างขึ้นด้วย ปรับสภาพที่ตกค้างจากอดีตให้สอดคล้องกับตัวตนปัจจุบันเพื่อค้นพบสิ่งที่อยู่ข้างใต้ ผลลัพธ์ของสิ่งที่เหลืออยู่คือผลลัพธ์ของสิ่งที่เคยมี เผยให้เห็นถึงสิ่งที่มีอยู่เสมอเพื่อเริ่มต้น

ผลงานของ Soichiro Shimizu ได้รับการคัดเลือกสำหรับคอลเลกชันส่วนตัวและสาธารณะจำนวนมาก เช่น คอลเลกชันจากสำนักงานใหญ่โซนี่ โตเกียวและโซนี่พลาซ่า นิวยอร์ก บริษัทเครื่องสำอาง Shu Uemura และพิพิธภัณฑ์ศิลปะร่วมสมัย MAlIAM ในเชียงใหม่ ประเทศไทย

Gallery Seescape would like to invite everyone to attend the opening exhibition by Soichiro Shimizu, a Japanese contemporary artist whose artworks invite us to explore the energy of aesthetic’s opposite by considering the existence and degradation of human and nature.

About artist
Soichiro Shimizu
Live and work in Bangkok, Thailand

Born in Tokyo in 1966, Soichiro Shimizu studied at the School of Visual Arts where he lived and worked in New York before moving to Bangkok. His paintings and engravings explore the duality of opposite aesthetic forces noted to the existence and deterioration of man and nature.

He builds up layers through a physical rhythm of amplified motions, emphasizing his condition to affect the current nature of the materials, but at the same time destroying the many layers created. Aligning the residue of his past condition with his current self to uncover what's beneath, the outcome of what is left is the result of what once existed, revealing what was always there to begin with.

Soichiro Shimizu's works have been selected for numerous private and public collections such as collections from Sony Headquarters, Tokyo and Sony Plaza, New York, Shu Uemura Cosmetics Company and MAlIAM Contemporary Art Museum in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
