ไมตรี ศิริบุญ เกิดในปี พ.ศ. 2526 พำนักและทำงานในจังหวัดอุบลราชธานีและกรุงเทพฯ เป็นหนึ่งในศิลปินไทยที่มีชื่อเสียงที่สุดในรุ่นราวคราวเดียวกับเขา

หลังจบปริญญาตรีที่มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ไมตรีได้สร้างความตื่นเต้น ด้วยภาพถ่ายชุด “Isan Boy Dream” และ “Isan Boy Soi 4” และกลายเป็นที่รู้จักอย่างรวดเร็ว รูปภาพของเขาแพร่หลายไปทั่วโลกในเกือบทุกทวีป ในนิทรรศการศิลปะต่างๆมากมาย ไมตรียังดึงดูดความสนใจผู้ชมด้วยภาพปะติด (Collage) โมเสกขนาดใหญ่ (Mosaic) ศิลปะการจัดวาง (Installation Art) และศิลปะแสดงสด (Performance Art) ในช่วงชีวิตการทำงานวัยหนุ่มของเขา เขาได้เข้าร่วมแสดงงานเทศกาลศิลปะร่วมสมัยเบียนนาเล่ (Biennials) และ เทียนนาเล่ (Triennials) และได้รับรางวัลระดับประเทศมากมาย รวมถึงรางวัลศิลปะธนาคารกรุงเทพฯ (Bangkok Bank Art Awar) อันทรงเกียรติในปี 2006 ที่งาน บางกอกเบียนนาเล่ในปีนี้

ไมตรีได้แสดงรูปปั้นโมเสกควายขนาดใหญ่ ผลงานของเขาสามารถพบได้ในงานสะสมส่วนตัวที่สำคัญทั่วโลกและสถาบันพิพิธภัณฑ์ต่างๆ

Maitree Siriboon, born in 1983, lives and works in Ubon Ratchatani and Bangkok, is one of the best known Thai artists of his generation.

After completing his bachelor's degree at Silpakorn University, Maitree caused a sensation with his photo series "Isan Boy Dream" and "Isan Boy Soi 4" and quickly became well-known. His pictures literally went around the world and could be seen on almost every continent, in numerous exhibitions. Maitree also attracted attention with his beautiful, large-scale mosaic collages, installations and performances. In the course of his young career, he participated in biennials and triennials and received numerous national awards, including the prestigious Bangkok Bank Art Award in 2006. At this year's Bangkok Biennale, Maitree is represented with a large mosaiced sculpture of a water buffalo.

His work can be found in major private collections around the world and museum institutions.
