นิทรรศการ "SOTUS OBJECTS มีวันนี้เพราะพี่ให้..." ผลงานโดยกลุ่ม WHISTLEBLOWER จัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 5 – 31 ตุลาคม 2563 และจะมีพิธีเปิดในวันจันทร์ที่ 5 ตุลาคม 2563 เวลา 18.30 น. ณ EX SPACE หอศิลป์สนามจันทร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร พระราชวังสนามจันทร์

ขอเชิญร่วมงานเปิดนิทรรศการล่าสุดในพื้นที่ EX SPACE พื้นที่ศิลปะที่เป็นความร่วมมือระหว่างหอศิลป์มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ปรัชญา พิณทอง และ the Centre Pompidou ประเทศฝรั่งเศส

นิทรรศการ "SOTUS OBJECTS มีวันนี้เพราะพี่ให้..." โดยกลุ่ม WHISTLEBLOWER

การรับน้องหรือที่เรียกว่า โซตัส (SOTUS) นั้น มาจากตัวอักษรย่อภาษาอังกฤษของคำว่า “Seniority Order Tradition Unity Spirit” ที่ถูกแปลเป็นภาษาไทยว่า "ภราดร สามัคคีธรรม มนุษยธรรม และประเพณี อาวุโส.." โซตัสเป็นสิ่งที่ดำรงอยู่คู่กับสถาบันอุดมศึกษาไทยมาอย่างยาวนาน ในยุคสมัยที่การเมืองกําลังผลิบาน ทุกสิ่งทุกอย่างกําลังถูกนํากลับมาพิจารณาใหม่อีกครั้ง แม้แต่เรื่องที่ต้องห้ามที่สุด จึงไม่มีเหตุผลอันใดเลยที่จะละเว้นเรื่องประเพณีรับน้องไม่ให้ถูกพูดถึง

นิทรรศการ “SOTUS OBJECTS มีวันนี้เพราะพี่ให้...” คือนิทรรศการจัดแสดงวัตถุเรื่องเล่าที่เกี่ยวข้องกับกิจกรรมรับน้องในคณะวิชาศิลปะแห่งหนึ่ง เพื่อเป็นการทบทวนถึงร่องรอยบาดแผลและผลกระทบจากอำนาจนิยมที่กิจกรรมรับน้องได้ทิ้งเอาไว้ ในฐานะวัตถุหลักฐานของการล่วงละเมิดและกดขี่

เปิดนิทรรศการในวันจันทร์ที่ 5 ตุลาคม 2563 เวลา 18.30 น.
นิทรรศการเปิดให้ชมตั้งแต่ 5 – 31 ตุลาคม 2563 (เวลา 9.00 - 16.00 น. จันทร์ - เสาร์)

SOTUS OBJECTS: I am what I am today because of my seniors by WHISTLEBLOWER

SOTUS is the acronym of five concepts that represent the tradition Thai belief: Seniority, Order, Tradition, Unity, and Spirit. It is a common set of values that has been permanent part in tertiary educational institutions in Thailand for a long time. In an era where democracy is blooming, the practice is being called into questioned and reinterpreted. As the society is keenly debating about “the topic” once considered to be rigid taboo, there is no reason not to talk and rethink about the ritual as well.

The exhibition “SOTUS OBJECTS: I am what I am today because of my seniors” tells a story about this ritual persisting in an arts institution, in order to revisit the wounded past and the effects that this authoritarian ritual, as manifestation of violation and oppression, have exerted on students.

Opening exhibition is on Monday 5 October 2020 at 6.30 pm.
The exhibition will be on view from 5 to 31 October 2020, 9 am - 4 pm, Mon - Sat.
